Though the main character sees a guy with a dumb hair cut at one point and says "a millennial"... When she is about to turn 40. Misuse of words angers me.

Like when people call women guys?  :P

Oh, there's a Russian Doll 2? I need to get all over that thing!

Natasha Lyonne is Gen X, you can't have her.

I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

I follow the romance language rules on this.

Her character isn't.

Arguable. If Boomers are 1946-1964, the natural progression would be 1965-1983.

Anyway, edge cases are free to associate with whomever they want.

I'm on episode 4 right now, and just like S1 that's when it starts getting awesome.  Alan is hilarious this time out.

For us, on the edge of both generations it is harder to identify with the millenials than with the X.

I have lots in common with someone born in  1965 while much less with someone born in 2003.

My rule is if you saw the 70s, even for a couple days, you are an Xer.

Neither of those years are millenials. Millenials are born between 1980ish and 1995ish.

And I don't know. I'm a bit younger, from the mid 80s, but I identify a lot more with people born this century than in the 60s. Thanks to the Internet the whole generational cycle has broken down a little. There's only a few things about modern kids that are weird and they are largely out growths of stuff that was already bubbling when I was young.

Key exceptions of course in that stuff that happened before will already make up your experience growing up so there is somewhat of a pull towards seeing the past as more familiar. But in terms of eg my parents upbringing vs a 20 year olds.... No comparison which is more similar.

Finished up S2 of Russian Doll, and... it's fine.  There's a lot of great moments, but it lacks the connective tissue between the Nadia and Alan plots that made S1 so powerful.  Also there wasn't the continual decay that moved S1 along.  Things get weirder, and it's kind of driven by what Nadia does, but the resolution is more an acceptance than an achievement.

Barrister

I haven't followed it too closely, but Johnny Depp has to be the dumbest motherfucker to ever walk the earth to have gone and sued his ex-wife for defamation.  We're only in the plaintiff's case so far (so Amber Heard still gets to present evidence) and Depp sounds like a complete disaster on the stand.

Remember - he started this!  He didn't have to take this to court.
