Really like the Browns uniforms. The Steelers look stupid.
They just said an eight yard run by Hillis was his best of the year. Is that correct?
It wouldn't surprise me. He's been hurt, and he plays for the Browns.

I had to go look, because that just didn't seem right. I mean, 8 yards? They were wrong or misspoke: He has a long of 24 this year.
Oof dumb play by Taylor. The Browns defense is awful.
E: Heinz Ward fucks up, but then Polomalu owns the shit out of McCoy, and the ball is almost back to wher....ahaha another Steelers fumble & turnover.

Yeah. He is cortisoned out of his fucking mind right now.
Honestly, given that the Browns are incapable of tackling a running back before he gets a first down, I don't know why they don't just put in Batch and have him hand it off thirty times or so. Why risk Roethlisberger when you'd much rather have him for the 49ers?

It turns out that Chris Gocong knows all about that play.
Colt McCoy makes Kyle Boller look like Joe Montana. They'd be better off with Jamarcus Russell in there, or maybe Jeff George.
:( Shocking that Colt would fuck up. Again. And then the Browns would give up the long bomb td to ice the game since their offense is close to, if not 32nd in the league. Very glad I didn't go out to watch the game, or even pay more attention than yahoo updates. Fuck football this year.
It was just unforgivably bad. The guy's only contribution to his team was getting blasted in the face by the top of James Harrison's helmet.

Here's an article. McCoy's dad is pissed off:
http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/33774602
Quote"I wouldn't have put him back in the game," Browns coach Pat Shurmer said when asked about whether or not McCoy exhibited concussion symptoms. "I definitely don't want to put a player out there that's putting himself at risk if we know it.''
According to Shurmur, per Cabot, McCoy didn't begin exhibiting concussion symptoms until he was "leaving the locker room." Shurmur now says the Browns are "proceeding" as if McCoy has a concussion.
 Uh. Huh. No symptoms except being barely conscious. Minor detail. Get back in there and throw some touchdowns, kid!

So far so good.
TJ Yates is trying to throw it to Jacoby Jones like he's Andre Johnson and it isn't working, and on the one try to someone else (Walter), he way overthrew it. Basically, he's looking like a rookie who doesn't have a WR to help him out.
Edit: 3-3 now after a long Bengals drive that died on the Texans 5 yard line or so. Big running plays by both teams.
Doh Yates with his first INT. Terribly overthrew Mason, like he thought he was running a different route or forgot what jersey color he was wearing or something.
Well now Yates has gone back to looking like a guy who's been playing for a bit. He seems to like throwing to Owen Daniels now, which is good, since Owen Daniels is awesome and Jacoby Jones is not. The turnovers have killed the Texans though, especially Tate's fumble on the 3.
Oh my god. TJ Yates: Hero NFL QB

Yep. Looks like Wild Card Weekend is going to be Jets @ Houston. I sort of assumed that whoever went to Houston would probably win with Schaub out, but with Yates playing so strong and Sanchez being worthless, Houston might win that game and mess up my AFC predictions. I wanted Pittsburgh to come to town for the AFC championship, but I guess they can still come there on divisional weekend, and the Texans can beat up the Patriots.
Either way, nobody who comes into Baltimore in the postseason is coming out with a win.
The patriots shouldn't have won that game.

TEXANS IN THE PLAYOFFS!
Congrats. Yates played an awesome game & showed great poise not commonly seen from Rookie QBs (i.e., pretty much what everyone had been saying about Dalton this year). Houston did what great teams do-- overcome crippling injuries & find ways to win. Would be nice if the Bengals learned to do that at some point.
Tough, tough loss for us. On the field & in the locker room it was dead quiet, as if someone had died. Would have been nice to get to week 17 with more of a fighting chance of getting in. At this point I'll have to be happy if they go 9-7 (which will be a fight, given how Arizona has been playing). I'm thinking Marvin Lewis is gone if there's an 8-8 finish.
The Texans latest sacrifice to the football gods in exchange for a W: Mike Brisiel, starting RG, broken leg. Apparently, he broke it early in the game and stayed in, being all toughguy-like. You could see him limping around in some of the closeups, but I didn't really think much of it since he was still in.
Caldwell will start in his place, with...uh...I don't know who becoming the backup. Brisiel may be able to make it back for the playoffs (it's apparently similar to what happened with Daniel Manning, surgery and all).

I guess it's about the time to start doing that. This part of the year is arguably much more stressful for teams that aren't making the playoffs than those that are. If you're on the coaching staff you probably feel like your job is on the line and you need to pick up some wins (or at least have the specific players you coach play well) for job security or resume enhancement.

He dropped at least one that hit him in the hands yesterday. The Texans already have Jacoby Jones to do that for them.
I think he's just old and it's catching up with him. Either that, or he wasn't picking up the O or something. The Texans are probably just going to bring up a guy from the PS (Maehl or that little dude Holliday).
Maybe the Bears will get him? They could use a guy who isn't terrible.

One game suspension?! I really, really hope a Browns player gives that piece of crap a nice ACL/MCL tearing chop block next game. I don't see any other way that Harrison gets what he truly deserves in terms of justice. :menace:
It is staggered. Wait till he lays the next one. Which he will, as he's a punk ass coward bitch.

I'm getting tired of hearing the "these guys don't know any other way to play" bullshit. If that's the case, they don't belong in the league. They've had NFL notices placed in locker rooms reminding players to 'see what they hit' since the 80s (complete with a cheesy, dated diagram of a proper hit). No excuse for not knowing how to make a legal hit.
I'm not a huge fan of overprotecting the quarterback, but the technique of lowering the head & using the helmet as a weapon has no place in football.
I'd be okay with the 1-week suspension if they made him play without a facemask for the rest of the season + playoffs. And then the Theismann single bar for all of next season.
