Who do you think is most typical of a Languish poster? Not the spirit or mascot of the forum, just the one who adheres most closely to the platonic ideal of "Languish poster."
I nominate: Wags. Sure, he's not a gay Swedish lawyer, but those are all just quite vocal minorities. Median age, typical politics, typical employment and relationship history. His main quirk, thread necromancy, isn't too outre(and a quirkless poster would be more atypical).
The floor is open.
caliga
Caliga is too happy.
Wags is too depressed.
Wags seems fine. I rarely notice him.

Don't scare the lurkers. We need an audience.
There is no Platonic ideal; most of us are pretty opinionated so there is no group ideal of what a poster should be.
The most vocal and prolific posters are somewhat quirky and thus difficult to generalize apart from an interest in history and gaming.
I think the notion you're trying to get at is the Languish silent majority or Languish's Joe Sixpack. That would be: American, male, white, 20s to early 30s, employed in IT or IT-related. Includes you Peter Wiggins, Notorious, MIM, maybe Tonto Ritus, and about 5 or 6 other posters whose names don't leap to mind or who changed names and further blurred their identities.

Platonic ideal? Monkeybutt or Berkut. Both smart and funny guys, but their status as the exemplar depends entirely on whether you think Languish is or ideally ought to be kind of a belligerent mellow or a bit higher strung and fuller of generalized hate.
Edit: Actually, split the difference, and call it "Vinraith."
I always thought a Platonic ideal was an abstract version of what a thing *is* and not what it tries to be. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, the other allusion(the "everyman") should clearly rule out Berkut in this context.

Vinny is too think-skinned - otherwise, he would be a great nominee. Lacking an ability to get in an argument without going nuclear and stomping from the room isn't going to work on Languish.

Of course - you are not the most average poster at all, IMO.
I am TOO argumentative and piss people off too much (me and Habs had an interesting discussion about this when he came up for a con recently, actually), but someone who does not argue at all cannot possibly be the ideal - Languish is too much about arguing for that to work.
JR might work as well. He has that great mix of argumentativeness with likability. Why do I keep thinking of lawyers though?
For that matter, Malthus...
Although PJL, if we are on lawyers, is probably the RL ideal of what most Languishites would like to be... :P

Sadly, this entry is rather vague, but that is not my understanding. I believe it's idealism as opposed to materialism rather than ideal as opposed to inapt or unbefitting. Basically, the Platonic ideal poster would be the typical poster abstracted.
