QuoteWe're going to win at every single level. We're going to get rid of Obamacare, we're going to win on health care, we're going to start winning on every level. I say it kiddingly, but I mean it 100 percent: We're going to win, win, win! We're going to win so much, you're going to get sick and tired of it. You're going to say "Mr. President, we can't take it anymore, we're winning too much! Please, we don't want to win that much anymore, we can't take it, Mr. President!" And I'm not going to care — we're going to keep winning! Because we're going to make America great again. We're going to make it greater than ever before! I love you, go vote on Tuesday!

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Some might consider vegetable throwing an act of violence itself.

I think it is.

I posted this upthread, I think it is a better example:

Have you guys seen the video of the guy at the trump rally straight up sucker punching a protester being taken out of the arena by the police? Apparently Trump is considering paying his legal fees and referred to him as a guy who "obviously loves his country." Trump expounded on why the sucker punch was provoked, "he was sticking a certain finger up in the air. And that is a terrible thing to do in front of somebody that frankly wants to see America made great again."

The punch thrower is apparently quite contrite. "He deserved it," McGraw said. "The next time we see him, we might have to kill him."

Unless you think that the American justice system is so corrupt that if you get a good lawyer you get away with murder (and if you get a bad one, you are screwed even if you are innocent) then I don't see how paying someone's legal fees means you are condoning or inciting the act - it sounds more like being interested in a person getting a fair trial.

If a lawyer works pro bono on a case it doesn't mean he is necessarily condoning some act either.

Also, having read the article you linked, your "synopsis" does not appear like that in it at all - you have just picked and chosen some few lines taken out of context to make them appear like the narrative of Trump supporting it is unambiguous - while from the entirety of his comments it clearly isn't. Well done, Dorsey, you haven't changed from the intellectually dishonest dipshit we knew at Paradox.

Marty, I wasn't giving a synopsis of the article, I linked to it in order to show I wasn't making up quotes from the donald or the goon. I strongly disagree I took the words out of context--the puncher discussed killing the guy next time, and donald said he is looking into paying his legal fees and tried to justify that the puncher was provoked.

Maybe you haven't seen the video of the guy getting hit. The puncher walked over to the guy being escorted out of the venue by the police and sucker punched him when the protester wasn't looking. It is really egregious and cowardly behavior. It is the kind of stuff that can permanently hurt someone. Donald saying, "well the protester was giving people the finger which was really bad, and the puncher is a good guy so full of america he couldn't help himself and did something he shouldn't have, I think I'll pay his legal bills to help him out"--that isn't good enough.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

Didn't make it through the article but I didn't see anything that suggested Hillary couldn't get elected, much less that the Democratic Party was in dire straits.

I made it about 2/3 through.  It was a rambling mess.

The Minsky Moment

Thank goodness Donald Trump is acting to diffuse the situation. He recently posted on twitter:

"Bernie Sanders is lying when he says his disruptors aren't told to go to my events. Be careful Bernie, or my supporters will go to yours!"

Right it is not his own people or his own rhetoric but "outside agitators."  We have seen this all before.

Just read that Obama's terrorist buddy Bill Ayers was involved with the Chicago anti-Trump protests.

sure, Donald Trump, pro bono lawyer.

For some people being useful would be a step up, idiocy or no.

The Minsky Moment

Let's be plain.  This is a man who as part of his official campaign pronouncements has cited the 1950s era "Opearation Weback" as a model for immigration policy, who cited Japanese internment as a model for his policy re Muslim entry, and played footsie with the Klan.  This is not a dog whistle politics.  This is a lifeguard whistle blowing loud and clear.   It doesn't matter whether Trump truly is a racist (he has Black friends!) or whether he would govern more moderately than (say) Cruz, or whether he is just responding to working-class "anger".  There are lines that once crossed should be disqualifying to maintain a claim to be a decent society.  Trump crossed them, there is no defense.
