These old fossils will be out of the way soon and replaced by Bernie-types (younger ones) soon.

Who are these younger Bernie types?

Don't know yet. We will get to meet them in 2018.

As much as people hate Pelosi--and I think a change of leadership is warranted, though not necessarily Mr. Dago Red even though all the navel-gazing over "ZOMG how'd we lose all those negro-hating truck drivers in the Midwest" is the new hotness--but an established power broker that still has positive connections on the other side of the aisle may be the best chance the Democrats have from getting the full train run on them in Congress.

So here's the "new" Democratic leadership elected by the party today:

Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, 76 years old
Representative Steny Hoyer of Maryland, 77 years old
Representative James Clyburn of South Carolina, 76 years old
Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, 66 years old

Good luck!
At least they have enough experience to know that election losses is just something that happens every couple of years, it's nothing to lose one's shit over.

Ed Anger

I like Chuckie Schumer. He doesn't like Iran.

Or they have enough "experience" to not give a fuck anymore because they are already rich and going to die soon!

Valmy

Well every single rep and senator the Democrats have, that presumably elected these people, are not over 70 :P

So the average age of these folks is a bit under 74. When I think of modern gerontocracies, my first thought is Brezhnev's USSR. Wikipedia reports the average age of the politburo in 1980 was 70. Way to go democrats!

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

As I said those people are basically placeholders. The Democrats are undergoing a transition.

So Obama complains about fake news-- in an interview with Rolling Stone :hmm:

They're conducting an interview with the President; that's real news.

Hey look the Democrats actually won a Governorship someplace...maybe.

Or not.

The Pat McCrory v. Roy Cooper election in North Carolina is starting to get ridiculous. McCrory seems to have doxed the election board and ordered his followers to descend on them like internet locusts or something for not supporting his theory that "voter fraud" cost him the election.
