But what does that have to do with Fox News, which is cable-only?

branding

But FOX and Fox News don't actually seem to have much in common.  FOX, at least in the early days, was seen as the younger, hipper, edgier channel when compared to the Big Three.  But Fox News would never, ever be described that way.  Plus we didn't get Fox News in Canada in the 90s, but we did get FOX, and I don't remember a single bit of cross-promotion going on.
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

The Minsky Moment

Seedy's point is that Aarpers might not have been watching the Simpsons and the X files but they were switching on the local Fox affiliate to watch the evening news.  So in their mind "Fox" and "TV news" had an association.  Whether this had any bearing on the audience for Fox News (cable) I have no idea but it isn't completely far-fetched.

Given that FOX produced shows such as "Glee", I am with Beeb that the thematic connection between Fox News and FOX is tenuous at best.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

A show in 2010 about signing high school fags that, in reality, would be curbstomped and crucified faster than Matthew Sheppard has nothing to do with the syndication efforts of Fox Broadcasting in the late 80s and early 90s in cultivating an audience outside of the traditional "Big Three" through agreements with UHF stations, or the establishment of its other corporate entities under Murdoch.  Like your backwards ass country even had running water back then.

They have been eating their own for years. Trying to be sufficiently morally pure is an endless struggle.

Even though they're the most watched US cable news channel; Fox News's viewership really isn't that high.  At prime time they have about 2 million viewers MSNBC has about a million and CNN has about 700,000.  By means of comparison Dancing with the stars has a viewership of about 10 million.

I read that pornhub has 25 million unique visitors with US IPs each day.

I only go there about twice a week so props to the rest of you guys helping to keep the numbers up.

So maybe some machines were hacked, after all.

There is a statiscally significant discrepancy between computer generated ballots and paper votes in Pensylvanya.
Could be fraud, could be malfunction, could be human error.

The election could be rigged

In some dozen states, the electronic voting machine leave no paper trail, nothing to audit.  So if a participant claims there is voter's fraud, in say Pennsylvania, it will be impossible to prove or disprove the fraud.

QuoteIn 58 of the state's 67 counties, including those comprising its two largest cities -- Philadelphia and Pittsburgh -- once a vote is cast, it exists only in electronic format. That means if the election is close -- and Clinton fails to sweep the state by a landslide margin -- Trump's claim that the system is "rigged" will be virtually impossible to disprove.

This was all brought up before with the 2004 election--how Diebold paperless voting machines could be fucked with using Microsoft Access on YouTube, just when the President and CEO of Diebold promised at an RNC fundraiser to "deliver Ohio" for Bush.

But all that was blown off as ZOMG URAPARANOID LEFTY crazy talk. Nobody gave a shit then, nobody should be giving a shit now. So I don't want to hear a single goddamned motherfucking thing about rigged fucking elections.

So sad.

Holy shit!  You mean it was actually brought up that Diebold machines could be fucked with using Access on Youtube and nobody gave a shit???  That boggles the mind!
