I'm thinking about this for Internal Security:

As a rather persuasive gunshop owner was telling me once when I looked at one of those: "Drywall is cheap"  :)

Yeah Wolf 7.62 seems to cause a lot of stovepipes in my SKS as well, but that's the only gun I've ever fired it from.  Seems very dirty.

I've fired a lot of Wolf 7.62x39 in my AK and SKS's & never had a problem.  Their 7.62x54R ammo is good as well, though I'm not a huge fan of lacquered steel cases.  I shoot their 9x18mm stuff in my East German Makarov, but never bought their 9x19mm for my Glock 17 since there's usually brass, copper jacketed stuff available for the same price.

On the general topic of ammo, I haven't bought any ammo for quite a while but I've always been a fan of the Czech company Sellier & Bellot.  They make ammo in just about any caliber imaginable and it's always been clean, reliable & dirt cheap.

I don't think Glocks are 'ugly', they just don't look as badass as a Beretta PX4.  That said, the Glock 26 is very weird-looking to me because the handle has this weird slant to it.  It's possible to make a subcompact conceal-carry gun that looks cool (examples include the Taurus Millenniums and the Bersa Thunder 380CC) but Glock failed on that miserably with the 26.  I actually have a 26 sitting on my desk right now and not only does it look strange, but it kind of sucks to fire because the recoil (even chambered 9mm) is heavy due to the small size.  It's also a bitch to field strip because the much smaller recoil spring likes to fly out right in my face, I guess because it's under more tension.

Yeah, like I said, it's a specific issue with me- the upper receiver just seems mismatched when compared to the rest of the gun.  1911's pretty much my gold standard for a handgun, aesthetically speaking.
Experience bij!

The Bersa Thunder 380cc is basically a knockoff of the PPK.  I was annoyed my father in law didn't bring it to the range last weekend.  He said he was going to, but forgot (but I think he might have just been saying that).

It's starting to sound like he may be a dick.  :hmm: :P  Or at least a gun range dick.

Wikipedia says the Ecuadorian Air Force also issues them, so you'll be happy to know you're in good company.

Just reversed the mag release on the PX4.  My gun is now offiically: left-handed.

The pin I used to reverse it got jammed in it though and I had to pull it out with pliers.

You're a hearty gunsmith.

I don't want to be around you when you shoot.  Sounds like shit will explode in your hand.

If I get enough out of my Czech Vz.24 rifle, I may run down to a place near Cal's and pick up one of these:

A semi-auto .223 rifle for just over $300.  Plus since it's basically an AK with non-threatening stock/handguard, I can convert it to something cooler-looking later.  And since it's actually made where AK's originated, I would think the workmanship will be a bit better than my Romanian SAR-1 (7.62x39mm AKM clone).

Haven't sold my SAR1 yet, but I'm kicking around the idea of getting a Saiga in 5.45x39mm to convert into AK74 or AK102 configuration.  Also noticed that prices have come way down on AR pattern rifles.  The DPMS Panther Oracle looks awfully nice for $599.  The only negative comments I've seen are from AR snobs who can't come up with anything objective.

Anyone here have an AR pattern rifle?  It's been over 15 years since I shot one, but I love how they shoot & how they're put together.  With the Saiga I'll have to do put in some elbow grease (not to mention drilling & possibly cutting) but with the Oracle I'd just need to add a red dot sight or whatever & I'd be good to go.

Here's the Oracle:
