Is Slargos sick?

How do you mean no thread?
I'm posting in one right now.

What does Slargos have to do with rioting in England?

That is not what they are called here in England, Slargos

They are known as "the community" instead.

My mistake.

I'm sure they had perfectly valid reasons for rioting and looting.

I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

Apparently there's rioting in Tottenham. The young people of the community have had their feelings hurt and are now taking out their frustration on society.

AFAIK, a "father of four" (like there is a get out of prison free card after certain number of children) got tyranically shot by police, when the policemen returned fire at him. Then the righteous members of his community took up to themselves to express the grave injustice which befallen this poor man, and set a neighborhood on fire and looted a supermarket.

Summary:

Mark Duggan was a 29 year-old man from the Tottenham area of London:

He was stopped by the police in a mini-cab, after which shots were fired at a policeman. Duggan was subsequently shot dead - likely by the police, though our ordinary constables do not carry guns (it is left to a specialist branch of the police force).

The grieving family joined a large group of people in a protest outside of a police station in Tottenham which was demanding to hear from the police. However, no one from inside came to speak to them. *Apparently* a woman was pushed by a police officer outside the police station, and this seems to constitute a legitimate reason for the not-so-good people of Tottenham to go and trash the place.

I thought riots in Britain were a daily occurrence.  Just something they do.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

It's spread to my home town of Enfield now. There are thousands of youths arriving with hoods and masks carrying bricks. So far they've looted a jewellers, HMV and T-Mobile and there's reports they've burned down Nandos. This is no social protest, these are imported thugs on the rob.
