:P
 Innovative ideas to solve our pension costs

Don't give Macron ideas! :D

Quote from: Duque de Bragança on June 21, 2026, 06:11:33 PMThose old people are also very sensitive to the cold.
I get a sore throat, they get a pneumonia.
Plus Southern Europe already  has A/C, plus cities designed for the heat.
Insulation could be improved, though.
Assuming your figures are true, they just prove A/C does not work.

Now, healthcare in general is not that great for the elderly, though still better than in the US obviously, with its lack of free or affordable healthcare.

Again are old people dying in the other 6 continents because the AC spirits are attacking them ;) :D can't blame the uks "mild" weather this time since you're saying ac gives old people pneumonia :contract:
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

So guns, heat or cold or face capitalisation-style pension systems. :hmm:

NA-style AC no, not the kind used in Southern Europe.
Hell, even commercial centres manage it correctly in Portugal, see CascaiShopping, your kind of place. :D

It's aesthetics. AC is a bit nouveau riche and Europe's old money.

Plus mega-cities like Paris are special cases being heat traps with temperatures not decreasing at night such as tonight.  :contract:

Japan is full of old people, has a drastically varying climate, and pioneers AC tech and has very high usage. European style social safety net too. Your superstitious fear of AC would be quaint if it wasn't deadly :P

Wrong, Greens are nouveaux riches too, bobo-style, not old money, and they hate A/C, even in the few cases it might be useful.

Sure but the climate is changing and the world is becoming more urbanised, including Europe (France is a bit of an exception on this - but Southern Europe's got one of the faster rates of urbanisation in Europe).

Well I guess that's fair, a French man would rather die than be considered garish

Being way more sick as in colds due to A/C, compared to the winter,is a fact you keep on denying.
A/C is your superstition, not mine.

Not the same climate besides, you stubborn crypto-Moor. Real Moors know a thing or two about insulation, besides.
They like it strong, but then 2 or 3 degrees more for Tokyo won't change a lot for them.

Look, Bragança is way hotter than Paris and 35-40 max during the day is not uncommon.
Yet it drops by 20 degrees at night.
It does not in metropolises such as Paris.
Mass A/C in Paris means 2 degrees on average due to a higher carbon print and more greenhouse gas effects.

Urbanisation rate is different than metropolisation rate.
In France, they even called a 2000+ community a town or ville.
Now, there's a requirement about having the significant part in the « town » centre.

Other European countries have a 10,000 or 5,000 threshold.

Apples and oranges.

" Yes, air conditioning is becoming increasingly common in Braga, especially in modern and recently renovated properties. In fact, real estate studies indicate that Braga has a higher percentage of properties with AC (around 43%)"

Google, so take it as you will.

I said Bragança not Braga you ignorant Moor. :D
I know your ancestors got in trouble up north, but that's no reason,

Plus, I said there is some A/C in Southern Europe. Yet, you keep repeating there is none, except your example shows there is some.

Make up your mind and stop moving tbe goal posts.
At least on the relevant pitch. :P

Though if you are to jinx Cabo Verde instead keep on rambling on A/C über alles. :

Braga hot ?!
Braga being only slightly drier than Porto does not make it hot. 5 to 7 degrees less than Bragança.

So is nowhere near as hot as Bragança.

P-S: Google? Trump facts when needed so a grain of salt is needed not to mention European digital sovereignty (stop laughing!).
