Glad people enjoyed themselves at least. My parents used to have a beach hut on Bournemouth beach that they gave up a couple of year's ago. Was just chatting to my mum and asked if maybe she should get back on it - apparently it's not worth it for her and also literally round the head there's an empty beach it's just not got any facilities so you can't get an ice cream, coffee, drink etc and need to bring an ice box with you.

I've not seen those, but judging by the near gridlock here and all the cars using to forest roads as google-sponsored rat-runs, it must have been heaving over the BH weekend.

Sounds like an ideal beach hut for me.

You're biased by living in the South.  That looks fairly typical for beach in New Jersey.

It's interesting, trying to find some reliable online stats, lots of click-bate saying Texans averaged 200 lbs etc , but little concrete details, so I gave up.

So are Texans, males I presume for that 200lbs figure , really that much bigger than the average?

I have no statistics to back this up, only personal observations, but the obese and morbidly obese in the US seem to be disproportionately concentrated in the South (a.k.a., the states that formed the Confederacy).  Obviously it's noticeable pretty much anywhere in the US, but the South does seem to have a greater concentration.

I think there might be the converse 'view' in the UK, that Northerners are more obese than Southerners?
