The Minsky Moment

It's reported for October 21st.  Don't plan anything for this week-end.

Last week-end was just the spiritual end of the world.

Which is inconsistent with the eternity of God.

Preachers tend to be weak on theology . . .

It does not really say what happens to all you heathens but people seem pretty sure it will be really bad shit man.

There will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Of course.  They're protestant.  This is why interpretation of the bible should be left to priests.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

So a combo Kleenex salesman and dentist would clean up?  Cool!
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

I disagree.  Or at least, wikipedia disagrees :contract:

Despite the title of this thread the Rapture is not simply just the world ending.  It is a specific interpretation of 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17

QuoteFor the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

So all the believers who are dead and those still alive will meet God somewhere in the Troposphere and live with God forever.  It does not really say what happens to all you heathens but people seem pretty sure it will be really bad shit man.

I am sorry that I underestimated their craziness :weep:

I look forward to another zany explanation from Camping about why the apocalypse didn't happen. :)

The guy had a heart attack or stroke or something like that the last time.  So, it may end for him soon.

Anyway, I thought that no man could know the hour etc.  Or is that not in the Protestant Bibles?
