Now that's something!

Pretty much the same all along the coast.  I am not sure what it is that keeps the mosquitoes away but I think it has to do with the winds that come off the ocean.

Yep, they're rare on Vancouver Island as well, except for the more interior parts.

It also didn't receive any attention here, because I don't think we have any locals and it's probably meaningless anyways... but PEI had a vote yesterday as well and they went with their third consecutive Liberal majority.

Since the forces of goodness, light and conservatism are going down to defeat anyways, I voted my heart and went Wildrose after all.

We're going to be in for a rough 4-5 years.

It seems to me that this defeat is mostly due to vote splitting between the Conservatives and Wildrose party, no?  If the split continues, the rough 4-5 years can be extended

Does BC not have mosquitoes?

Yes but they are not that common to cause nuisance.  In my experience BC is relatively pest free compared to HK.  I didn't see a single cockroach when I was there.  We used to joke that the Canadian mosquitoes are much larger than HK ones, but they were a lot slower.  So hitting them was easy, but the trouble was they made a much larger mess  :yuk:

The only place I've seen a cockroach is at the Montreal insectarium.

@BB Have hope, It will be better for your in the long run.

In the sense that the conservatives should never allow their vote to be split again, yes, this will sorta teach them a lesson.

That blows my mind.

Though, come to think of it, I haven't seen any in Iowa either.  :hmm:

They're everywhere in Hong Kong.  It is unavoidable.  The climate is humid enough for them here, especially during summer (which is like 6 months long here).  You kill a bunch, another bunch will take their place  :yuk:

Stop hatin' on mainlanders.

:lmfao:  Actually, HKers refer to mainlanders as locusts, not cockroaches :contract:  Cockroaches don't eat everything; locusts do

We've had a thread on how often you see spiders in your home, some of us answered barely 1 every year. That blew my mind.

I've killed 4 today.

I see centipedes way more often that spiders.  I used to see spiders a lot, but now it's the centipedes.  I think maybe the centipedes 'took care' of my spider problem.  Thanks, creepy fucking centipedes. :)

No, it really won't.

Early results still look to be an NDP romp.

Fucking socialists. <_<
