QuoteStill very much enjoying 'Wolf Hall' and Damien Lewis's portrayal of Henry VIII is revealing itself perhaps brilliantly, I mean I think it'll be a brilliant performance once the full traits and motivations of his Henry are evident.
Is Henry VII in it?

I quite enjoy Murdoch Mysteries, though I'm a fair amount behind the current run.  I gave Strange Empire 3 episodes, and thought it was mediocre at best.  I could see what they were vaguely trying for, but it just wasn't working.  Trailer Park Boys is quite popular with a lot of my friends, which I believe is Canadian.  I also loved Due South when it was on.  Where I grew up and live we get one Canadian station, CKWS out of Kingston, so I probably have an unusual amount of Canadian tv experience for an American.

No.  Trying to tackle issues about race and sex using the Canadian frontier as their canvas.  It was often heavy handed and not helped by a lot of cringe worthy "acting".

I'm thinking of getting this on DVD when it comes out.

This was my suspicion exactly - judging purely by the praise some critics have heaped on the show (and the scorn they have heaped on Canadians for not watching it in droves).

You very rarely see good subtle treatment of those topics.

If they tried to tie it into the timeline and setting it would be a lot better, even if not done in an overly subtle manner.  Alas.

 Half of the American shows are filmed in Vancouver.

Did I say anything about filming location, le Assburger?

You said Canadian TV. Unless you meant our actual tv devices. American TV = Canadian TV.

Please don't talk to me for awhile.

 Yeah.  Utica, NY.  Basically dead center of the state.

Wolf Hall is very good, enjoying it a lot.

The first episodes of Game of Thrones season 4 however are boring me to tears. I think I'm going to give up on it, I probably should have a while ago.
And I'm still stuck at episode 3 of True Detective, I can't get into it. It looks good and the acting is fine, but crime stuff just doesn't interest me.

Keep watching it, as always, it gets better as the season goes.

I had the same problem, but it grew on me :)

Do, it's wonderful. Mark Rylance is extraordinary as Thomas Cromwell.
