I suggest a Thunder Dome to find who will have to change avatar.

Is it like Cabin in the Woods?

We're about to send a The Hives copy band to Eurovision 2015.

I didn't like Deep Impact
Stay Alive...Let the Man Drive

Liep

I thought Deep Impact was about as entertaining as Armageddon.

I mean, the obvious pick is the sweet girl in the tiny red dress singing: "If you want me, then pack your rubber."

Deep Impact veered into soap opera territory, but Armaggedon was just stupid.
PDH!

celedhring

It was stupid, but it was sort self-consciously so. Deep Impact was really grating in trying to take itself so seriously.

Ed Anger

I forgot my position on Deep Impact

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Jupiter Ascending was kind of crap, so the gal and I watched Flash Gordon to make ourselves feel better.  It worked. :)

Is it so crap than 5€ plus a hour or so for the return trip is wasted money and time?
I'm no Wachowski brothers fan but once in a while I can indulge.

It's kind of fun in how excessive it can be at times--Redmayne is doing his best to single-handedly save the film--but it's too serious, too repetitive, too long.  The big problems are the far too great amount of time spent on Earth, the stultifying visuals that oscillate between legitimately space fantasy awesome and dully incomprehensible, and a tonally goofy Space Bureaucracy montage that is the most embarrassingly terrible thing in context.

QuoteI'll go to the next Flash Gordon screening at the Cinémathèque. ;)

I'd give a lot of money to see Flash Gordon on the big screen.

Yeah, that'll be pretty high on my list of favorite movies of this decade.  Also, Sexy Beast
