BSG, Blood & Chrome- Quite nice....but why do the cylons hate the humans? Doesn't really answer anything.

it's explained in the series.  They hate them because they made them and enslaved them, sort of, from their point of view.

It was something Caprica was supposed to explore at lenght, unfortunately, we saw a lot more during a 15 minutes preview of season 2 than the entire season 1.
I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Yeah, it was a Blade Runneresque conflict, except in this case the machines were able to organize and grow strong enough to rebel.

Caprica had a bunch of intriguing ideas, I loved the fact that the first cylons were animated by the digital brain patterns of dead people, the souls of the dead, in a way.

The show in itself was a bit boring, though.

The Brain

What We Do In The Shadows. Enjoyable without being groundbreaking.
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

I needed genre reeducation, so I went to camp:

Poltergeist  (1982)  A+

The Ring (2002) A+

The Descent (2005) A+

Great, great bunch of films.

Hey Ide, check this out.

Some advance word is that it's the creepiest damned thing since The Exorcist, and that's a bold call.

Go see it for me, I won't watch it.

Ideologue

Oh yes yes, The Babadook.

I was really hoping it would get a release around here, and I wouldn't be stuck fiddling with iTunes to try to watch it, but despite my disdain/failure to comprehend Apple products, I just might.  It's gotten huge buzz.

The advance word you heard is, after a fashion, from William Friedkin himself--he said it was the most terrifying movie he's ever seen. :)

And I still gotta watch Sorceror.  I'm not a Friedkin fan, as you know, but the idea of a Wages of Fear without the tedious hour of "character building" to open it up?  That's damned enticing.

Yeah heard nothing but good word about that film. Like Ide I live in sticks so no chance to see in theaters for me.
Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son

Man, Guardians is so much fun.  I really ought to be in bed, but fuck it, it was great.

Sorcerer is even worse on that regard.

Ideologue

Bummer.  Is it as direly misogynistic?

There are scarcely women in it, dunno if that counts.
