look every time bond tries to be relevant to his time it turns out crap.
Which is why in about 4 out of 5 films the villain should be Russian. I don't care about the War on Terror or hackers or North Korea. I want Russians in onesies.

You might be on to something here, since Goldeneye is probably the Brosnan film that holds up best.

Despite Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist?

"Despite" wouldn't be the correct word here (rather "because"), but she's not in Goldeneye anyway. You're mixing it with The world is not enough.

Might be.  :P The "I thought Christmas only came once a year" line must rank near the top of Bond's cheesiest one liners ever.

Funniest thing is the writers of the Brosnan movies are the same ones as the Craig ones - there's probably lots of credited and uncredited rewrites that explain part of the difference, but it's a fun weird fact given how vastly different both series are in style.

The Brain

I haven't watched any post-80s Bond. They seem to suck sweaty man ass.

The Expendables 2. Quite boring and not-really-fun until the last set piece at the airport - which has some decent gun porn -. Got the same feeling with the first one, too.

Tonitrus

Started watching "Longmire" on Netflix...and after the first few probably will not continue:

- More plot holes than I can be bothered to keep up with.
- Terrible writing.
- Crappy soap opera-esque plot devices (daughter hooks up with political rival deputy by episode 3).

And the "so poor he has to walk 3 hours to two jobs" reservation lives in a mobile home with a modern interior that would please Martha Stewart...it's like they're not even trying.

I have been watching the rerun of True Detectives and I am up to episode 4.

This is some amazing TV.  Great writing.  Amazing acting.

I've only seen the first episode.  I really want to watch the whole thing. :(

Apparently, it is being released on DVD tomorrow. If so, I'll pick it up.
