Speaking of BDs, released today: Airplane! and Airplane II: The Sequel double-feature. :w00t:

This (Airplane!) marks the first time I've upgraded from DVD to BD, unless you count the BD of Spaceballs that came with my Mel Brooks Collection, which I suppose you might as well.
Why? Unless the movie is effects or visual heavy, why bother? A comedy like Airplane is all about the dialouge.

And where's your Dredd review!?
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I dunno. Comes in a nice dual case. Anyway, I shall review Dredd
But first I must watch The Raid so as to make any necessary comparisons.

Of course, right now I'm stretched so thinly I'm having trouble completing my Grand Piano review, let alone my 2013 year end (I KNOW) stuff. :/ But, it comes.
Kinemalogue

When I go to the theatre I disregard the paeons that also happen to be there, letting them bask in my munificence. Basically my attitude to the other people in the theatre is the same as Seedy's cats have towards him, disdainful tolerance. It's actually worth it for the big screen, big noise and the audience reactions reminds me which emotions I should fake when impersonating a human.
I also disregard people. If I thought about there being other people then I wouldn't feel comfortable eating popcorn, falling asleep or going to the toilet. Frequently.

Ide is distracted by shiny baubles.
"I've never been quite sure what the point of a eunuch is, if truth be told. It seems to me they're only men with the useful bits cut off."
I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

Motherfucker, you better get going with Streets of Fire most riki tik;  it doesn't get any better than a 19 year old Diane Lane.

If only Ide had time to study for The Bar.

In normal society I'm fine. For whatever reason, that's not the case in the cinema :weep:

But isn't he a recovering alcoholic?  :hmm:

The thing I love about Hannibal is that I feel like it's reclaiming the grotesque for Gothic horror from torture porn. As a huge horror fan that fills me with delight.

I don't know what the deal is with HBO programming over there in Televisiontaxistan, but you really need to catch True Detective once it is available.  I sincerely think you'll appreciate it.

My flatmates have watched it. They got it some way or other... :P

I will watch it. Honestly I avoided because I enjoy binging
