Not that many actually, only 6 or 7 according to IMDB. Anyways, Cinéma de Minuit is not necessarily for classics but for oddities and rarely seen films as well.

I don't think they had a head of state.  But Blum and Mendes-France were heads of government which is where the power was in the Third and Fourth Republic.

From Thessalonica indeed but half Greek-Jewish. Her father was a Sefaradi Jew who converted to catholicism to marry her mother (Sarko's maternal grand mother).
