I'm looking for a new show to watch.

Weeds iz good?

Haven't seen much of Sopranos or OC, but the entire yay-hay-criminals-are-cool genre typically bores me. Is it a mistake to give them a pass?

Or should I just download the entire run of Friends again..  :Embarrass:

Monster mistake to not catch The Sopranos.  For my money the best television series ever made.

Oz puts me to sleep.

The Wire is better.

Just watched Somewhere, from girl-Coppola.

Great shots, boring film, one of the worst endings I've seen.

I'm shocked that the director of Lost of in Translation could make a plodding, dull movie.  It seems impossible.

I hate you. Lost in Translation is awesome.

My guess is you haven't traveled much.

If I did, would I be content with fewer narrative hooks and scenes with dialogue in my cinema?

Lost in Translation is so-so at best.
I hated it when I first saw it, second time with more knowledge of living abroad and Japan and a different frame of mind...hmm....I saw some merit. But still, don't see what its doing on so many favourite film lists.

Lost In Translation works for so many people because Hollywood films tend to be so damned noisy and frenetic.

The Brain

I really liked Lost in Translation. Only seen it once though, maybe I'd feel differently after a second viewing.

I find watching it hard though because Scarlett makes me weep for what I cannot have.

Edit: Didn't find it slow though. If you want slow watch Valhalla Rising. Or don't, since it's truly emetic.

Lost in Translation gave me a pleasant enough feeling when I watched it(I think), though I can hardly remember anything about it now.

+1  It certainly strikes me as an odd movie to inspire so much emotion.
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

Watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  Surprised by what a character-driven, if not subtle, piece it was, given its status as a summer--if late summer--tentpole.  Really, really good, and better than I'd have expected.
