New BBC drama The Responder starring Martin Freeman is really good - and he is terrific (also he really nails the scouse accent).

I read a piece in the Guardian over the weekend that mentioned this is a first script by an ex-cop and that is extraordinary.

Random observation/connection while watching Bojack Horseman's first season. Hotshot agent Vanessa Gekko's voice seemed familiar. She's voiced by Kristin Chenoweth. And I remembered her from an episode from Frasier where she played ... a super ambitious and aggressive junior agent. My head canon now says it's the same character who rose through the ranks of agents and adopted a new look and name.

The social conflict here seems to be between old money New Yorkers and noveau riche robber barons, so I'm sure there will be quite a lot of accent flaring in the show.

No Dowager Countess, though, and that's a big flaw.

The Sex Lives of College Girls, S1. I really enjoyed it. There's the odd silly thing but overall good dialogue and some genuinely funny jokes, and decent drama.

Oh yeah, and you can spot Lauralee Hickok from In The Know with Clifford Banes.

I Care a Lot - Brutal little flick with no heroes or anti-heroes, just two incredibly charismatic villains going toe to toe.  In particularly I liked that [spoiler]the mafia boss didn't just go murder crazy right off, but tried to get his mother out quietly before resorting to more extreme methods when thwarted[/spoiler].  The ending was good up until [spoiler]Chekov's Gun goes off[/spoiler].
