New BBC drama The Responder starring Martin Freeman is really good - and he is terrific (also he really nails the scouse accent).

I read a piece in the Guardian over the weekend that mentioned this is a first script by an ex-cop and that is extraordinary.

I'm gonna check this out. Thanks.

Random observation/connection while watching Bojack Horseman's first season. Hotshot agent Vanessa Gekko's voice seemed familiar. She's voiced by Kristin Chenoweth. And I remembered her from an episode from Frasier where she played ... a super ambitious and aggressive junior agent. My head canon now says it's the same character who rose through the ranks of agents and adopted a new look and name. :P

Ah, Bojack Horseman, the ultimate navel-gazing self-pity show.

In case anyone is in a Downton Abbey withdrawal and needs a dose of stuck up rich people drama, Julian Fellowes has just premiered a new show in HBO, called The Gilded Age, about NY's high society in the late XIXth century.

Not the same if it's not Brits though.

The social conflict here seems to be between old money New Yorkers and noveau riche robber barons, so I'm sure there will be quite a lot of accent flaring in the show.

No Dowager Countess, though, and that's a big flaw.

The Sex Lives of College Girls, S1. I really enjoyed it. There's the odd silly thing but overall good dialogue and some genuinely funny jokes, and decent drama.

Oh yeah, and you can spot Lauralee Hickok from In The Know with Clifford Banes. :)

I Care a Lot - Brutal little flick with no heroes or anti-heroes, just two incredibly charismatic villains going toe to toe.  In particularly I liked that
the mafia boss didn't just go murder crazy right off, but tried to get his mother out quietly before resorting to more extreme methods when thwarted
.  The ending was good up until
Chekov's Gun goes off
.

I would've thought you would be more into Europa and Leda than Danae.
