I am...cautiously optimistic.

Me too. Reitman has a pretty good resume.

And is the son of the original director, so he has a connection to the material as well.

The trailer does look good. And the first two while not perfect hold a nostalgic place in my memory.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

Is that kid from Stranger Things?

I'll check it out.  Partly to get the indifferent flavor of GBIII out of my mouth.

I have finished Archer. A thoroughly enjoyable ride, though Archer: 1999 was a low point for me (except the last three episodes).

I had seen spoilers before that Archer would be in a coma. My assumption was that at the end of Season 4 where he drowns and is revived, he's actually not revived but in a coma. And the following "gimmick" seasons that became ever sillier seemed to bear that out: Archer Vice, Archer working for the CIA, Archer as an L.A. detective agency. There's e.g. a moment where Archer flashes back in Season 5, I think, and wonders why he suddenly feels like he's back drowning again. Of course at the end of the detective agency arc, Archer is shot and in a coma, leading to Dreamland, Danger Island, and 1999.

Season 11 feels like going back to basics. SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU CARE ABOUT THAT.

Archer wakes up from the coma after 3 years. His mother has stayed by his side all this time. But time has moved on. The agency is actually competent now, and Cyril is their best field agent, buff and in charge. Lana has married an old billionaire. Obviously, Archer, now using a cane for mobility, is struggling to fit in. Over time, his influence breaks them down again. Cyril loses his self confidence, New Improved Cheryl goes back to being her weird and crazy self, and Pam also turns full hedonistic again.

The season is back to spy agency antic and I liked it a fair bit, though I would have liked to see more Ray and Krieger.

That said - near the end of the season's last episode, Archer has again hallucinations like at the end of the 1999 season before coming back out of the coma Could be hypothermia, PTSD, or he's still in a coma. I would not be surprised if the show pulled a coma within a coma. :P

Season 12 starts airing next month (though there's no telling how long it'll take till it gets to Netflix ... ). I assume Jessica Walter recorded her lines before her death ( :( ), but personally I'm not sure it would make sense for the show to continue without her character (or replacing her with someone else). They had Tom Kane take over Woodhouse for a few episodes after George Coe was no longer available, and while he did a good job it was not the same.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Trailer for The Prince, a cartoon show about the British Royal Family:

I was worried it would be over the top, but I feel this will be a quite realistic depiction.

I long for the day when our animation style evolves.

Different because films but I absolutely loved the animation style of Kubo and the guys who did Song of the Sea. Sadly I don't think they were very commercially successful so... :weep:

Looks like Family Guy with British royals. Not interested.

The Brain

Tried to watch Army of the Dead. The weak opening made me say fuck it.

With Archer done, I noticed that Kim's Convenience is now on Netflix (previously they only had the 5th season). Watched the first 2 episodes; liking it so far. :)

I haven't - I'll look out for it.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

That's some truly bizzare movies you just posted guys.  Can't you love Superheroes and Gladiator movies like normal people? :D
