The season finale of His Dark Materials is perfect. I wish the rest of the show was more like that (or the episode before, which was also quite good). Nonetheless, looking forward season 2.

2013 Gravity

2014 Grand Budapest and The Guadians of the Galaxy

2015 Revenant and Mission: Impossible -- Rogue Nation, mostly just good fun though

2016 La La Land was OK

2017 The three on the list I've seen were pretty meh

2018 Avengers: Infinity War for the spectacle

But it's a rubbish list, there's been many great movies this decade that isn't named there. Eg. all of Villeneuves.
