I'm rewatching The Imitation Game on Netflix and there's a PG-13 warning about "historical smoking."

So, we get a black female Bond, apparently. Lashana Lynch. The cultural fallout is going to be pretty interesting to watch (not actually). But I'm really looking forward to see what happens if they try to remain "faithful" to the character and she gets in bed with every hunk that shows up in the film, and how that is received.

They should have ended the series with Brosnan's third movie.

Maybe she's a lesbian?

Craig's batted .500 with his Bond films so far. I particularly love Casino Royale.

No Desmond Llewellyn in any of them.

Who cares about Bond, how are they going to top having Ana de Armas and Léa Seydoux in 25?

I don't know how having a female lead in a chick flick is going to work out.

By having Zac Efron and Liam Hemsworth in 26!

Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

Lol poor idris Elba.

By the time they got to decide on this, he became insufficiently progressive on account of being a male. :P

Probably. Personally I'm waiting on the remake of roots staring carrot top. Get some of that ginger representation back.

All I'm seeing are rumours and hearsay, nothing officially confirmed. Lynch is meant to play a different character in the film, named as "Nomi", who apparently "inherits" the 007 codename within MI6, but is not actually playing the James Bond character, as Craig is still in the film although supposedly retired from MI6 and pressed back into action. For all we know it can be a single scene to stoke up the film's promotion.

He's also a bit old, they want somebody that can play the part for a decade, and nowadays Bond films are too action-heavy for a 50-something.

CGI action-heavy Bond film is no big deal for a 50-something. It's not like stuntsmen do not exist.
Roger Moore did a couple Bond movies when he was already in his mid-50s and that was more of a problem in the practical effects-era.
A View to a Kill at 58 might have been too much though.  :P
