Enjoyed Solo, Valmy is a reprehensible creep, and Rosanne is a idiotic racist cunt.

Not sure what my personal failings have to do with the mediocrity and lameness of non-Kotor post-1983 Star Wars -_-

KOTOR 2 was The Last Jedi of that saga  :(

Disney shares dropped 2.4% on shitty Solo box office.

Nobody has made a good Star Wars movie since 1983. Disney might have bought high on it.

:hmm:

They bought low, very very low.

Millions of 4 to 10 years old are watching the cartoons & buying the toys. You old nostalgia filled Gen Xers are the ones that keep crying. You guys need to stop thinking that SW is only the Motion Pictures.

I am sure they are making billions. I was just having a bit of fun with the ridiculous panic-selling of their shareholders following Solo 'flopping'. Prediction: It will make hundreds of millions.

:o

Well...I cannot say it wasn't an incomplete and buggy mess.

Fahrenheit 451. Don't bother.

"Mel Gibson was planning to direct this remake, with Tom Cruise in the lead role, but schedules did not allow it." That would've been more interesting

You're not allowed to say the c-word anymore.

yes, I realize that's a setup for you guys to make jokes about 'creep'

Not even for a double bill with Truffaut's version?

Watched it the other day, since the director is a former teacher of mine. Some of his previous films were actually quite good but this one... not.

I appreciated that the film tried to address the fact that the whole book burning conceit doesn't make much sense in the digital age though.

For a minute I thought you meant the real one rather than a remake. Thank god. Was about to punch you through the web.

Killing Eve. Sandra Oh plays a low-rung MI6 operative that sees herself pitted against a hot Russian female international assassin that's completely off the scale in the nuts department. Quirky and superbly entertaining. I highly recommend it.

I saw this movie, glad I didn't pay for it. Not a total loss but it seemed way out of date with digital, but even more it defies imagination as to why all or most books and literature would be banned.

The idea is to control thought and reduce dissent in order to produce a happy society. The problem is that you really can't aspire to achieve that in today's society just by making physical books disappear. And that it makes no sense, as you say, to ban every book instead of just dangerous ones - the idea that this would produce a functioning society just doesn't fly. Obviously the original story by Bradbury is an allegory, but the film attempts a realistic portrayal of that society, incorporating modern media, and it really kinda feels off. That wasn't my biggest problem with it though, just that the plot was really stupid.
Coding books into animal DNA, really?
