What Norgy said. And that's why I like it....cause it makes me think I is smart.

Just watched the lastest Allen postcard-movie, Midnight in Paris. Now I feel all cultured and shit.

A lot of Mad Men talk lately...has there been a new series I've overlooked?

Nah...The show is actually in a holding pattern for now.

Nice.  I almost went to see that this past weekend, but the timing didn't work out.  It looks pretty good, and I love that era.

Anyone seen Super 8 yet?  Being hyped all to shit.  Reviews looked good, previews looked good, I spent a minute or two thinking about going to the theater last week.

I'm not getting 'Mad Men', I don't really empathise with any of the characters.

Me neither. I have trouble watching this show, which glorifies a total empty shell of a douchebag who can lay all women like it was nothing, cruising on his good looks and his tormented past, like he is an intrinsically interesting a character. Something doesn't cut, it affects my suspension of disbelief. It's like to be a good anti-hero, nowadays, one must be a magical manwhore.

But man, do things get worse.

QuoteI prefered Tony Soprano in that kind of role. Yeah he had mistresses and wasn't a kind soul to his wife, but he had severe character flaws and a personality to boot.

That was the great thing about Tony Soprano, and what made him such a great character;  you feel empathy for him, and then *wham* his character is unrepentantly feral and he commits acts that are vicious and swift with absolutely no pause for consideration.  You root for him, but he is in the end, a truly bad man.

But does the show get better?  Christ, I feel like strangling January Jones in most scenes.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Was decent.  I saw it this afternoon.  I'd give it a 7.5.

Man, she's one of the best things about that show. Sometimes I really wonder....  :hmm:

Oh. Her. I was thinking about someone else.

Nevermind.  :D

Drakken's comments about her boob size led me to mistake her for Christina Hendricks, and you can't seriously dislike her.

It was my mistake.

Oh, hell no.  She's the two best reasons to watch the show.

Her sassy nature is obviously one. What's the other?  :hmm:

That's who I thought he was talking about...who's the other one then....quick google check...Ah, OK..the wife.

But that's the beauty of it. You're supposed to hate her. She's an annoying prat. You can see why he cheats on her. Wait till you hit the next couple seasons.
