So I watched a beautiful happy musical with my son yesterday, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

So you watched a terrible movie?

Not this weekend, no. I did watch a weird dark depressingly sad bloody musical by Tim Burton mentioned above. BTW, It was not very happy as I mentioned before.
I like Tim Burton movies, I don't consider any of his movies terrible.

We also watched Men in Black II and III. I had not seen the 3rd one, pretty good.

You've never seen Dark Shadows then.

You are correct, guess I'll have to now.

Raiders >>>>> Crusade >>> Temple > Skull.  :contract:

This except there should be about ten more between Temple and Skull.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Tonitrus

I used to put Last Crusade ahead of ToD like most people, but I think I've reversed them these days.

The Last Crusade more comedic, and more dramatic...but I've really come to appreciate ToD.  I'd say they're about on par.  TLC is just has more in high drama, while ToD is a good, straight-forward adventure flick.

Eddie Teach

Thing that gets Temple of Doom rated down is the "save the children" subplot. Most of the film is great, but that shit has no place in it.

Yeah, I actually liked it better than that Three-Stooges-Slapstick-and-Shoddy-Bluescreen-CGI-Editing-And-Lets-Redo-The-Original-Raiders-Chase-Scene-But-Only-Slower-With-A-Tank-And-Shittier-Nazis" bullshit Last Crusade joke of a film.

You're dead to me.
Same.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

It's supposed to all be about fortune and glory, isn't it?

Damn right.

Actually, now that I think about it, Crusade's whiny intro does bring it down to about the same level as Temple.

FunkMonk

Crusade's intro was magical.
Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.

Eddie Teach

Only the action sequences. Indy bleating about how the artifact belongs in a museum got old pretty quick.

Ed Anger

I tire of Glee. I await the day FOX fucks that show over.

Temple of Doom is much more in line with the Indiana Jones motif:  swashbuckling prewar high adventure, and that's why it works.
Last Crusade is the series' Superman III:  shoddy bad guys, shoddy plot, shoddy CGI.  And no Richard Pryor.
