Heh, you're in for a treat, that show has been a bit of a sleeper hit AFAIK, a spin-off animated show is starting soon, and the 3rd season will start later this year, I think.

Did you read the comics it is based on?

I debated it, but decided not to. I like Ennis' comics. But I bounced off of Preacher because of how "off" it felt in comparison to the comics.

Well, the show is pretty different from the comics, the basic premise and characters are the same, but it evolves in a much different way, which I think is much better, as the comics became rather "edgy for the sake of being edgy" over time.

You haven't watched The Boys yet? :o It's pretty good.

I'm very slow when it comes to watching shows. Besides, I find it much easier to watch shows with ca. 30 minute runtimes that I can watch easily over a meal and then move on to something else.

The Larch

This is the trailer for the animated series that is beginning this month. It's an 8 episode antology show, AFAIK disconnected from the live-action show, although some of its characters appear on it as well (and in at least one episode they actually reproduce the character design from the comic books). Each episode seems to be in a different animation style, and the guest voice actors and writers includes some pretty big names, even Garth Ennis wrote one of the episodes.

Eat bigger meals.  ;)

Btw, regarding extra material for The Boys, there's also the "vought International" Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/voughtintl/videos), where they've uploaded in-universe media stuff (music videos and commercials featuring the show's characters), as well as a series of vignettes called "Vought News Network: Seven on 7" in a Fox News style that serve as teasers for the 3rd season. It's all pretty meta, even most of the people commenting the videos do so as if they were real news.

There's a Wiki page listing all Bond villains from all books, movies, and games, their objectives, the outcome, and their fates. :D

Reacher- if you've ever wanted Sherlock Holmes to be the size of a gorilla with a high body count(not that type you pervs), this is the show for you. Mindless fun.

I'm enjoying the YOutube clips.  I'd call what I see more than mindless fun.

There was an Economist review who described Reacher as an action hero for liberals.

I wonder where the actor came from.  Kind of out of the blue.

Savonarola

Dr. Mabuse the Gamber (1922)

Picks up on the themes that Fritz Lang was starting to develop in The Spiders (mind control, a conspiracy led by an evil syndicate) but makes them weirder and more disturbing.  This does bear an enormous debt to Louis Feuillade's Les Vampires and especially Juve Contre Fantomas (especially since the State Prosecutor and Dr. Mabuse are both masters of disguise.) It also carries through on most of Lang's films throughout his silent career; both Metropolis (in the full version) and Woman in the Moon have a similarly evil syndicate.

The films biggest flaw (I mean other than being over four hours long; I doubt anyone but a silent film fanatic would watch this) is that the protagonist isn't all that interesting.  Dr Mabuse (Rudolf Klein-Rogge) has to carry the picture by himself.  This is the most notable change from The Spiders where the irrepressible Kay Hoog (Carl de Vogt) is far more memorable than any of the rogues he encounters.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

He was a recurring character in Titans (superhero show), where he was quite enjoyable. Dude is fucking jacked, too.
