I loved Rome. Feel it was too early for that type of show and would now get to be the length it needed.

Imho Rome got it right. We all know that Caesar and Mark Anthony are going to kick the bucket before they can realize their plans,

Thanks. Ass.

Lol, no shit, fucking spoiler.

The new Star Trek series will air its first episode on CTV, then the rest of the season on Space!
The other seasons will be exclusive to CraveTV.

So, in all likelyhood, I won't be watching Trek beyond the 1st season.

Savonarola

Born Reckless (1930)

Well, even John Ford had some duds.  This film begins as America entered the First World War.  A jewel thief who is caught burgling a safe; the DA offers him a deal, he can go to jail, or he can join the army.  If he gets an honorable discharge at the end of the war the DA will destroy his record, otherwise it's off to the hoosegow.  (That is based on an actual occurrence.)  He survives and goes straight(ish) after the war, by opening his own nightclub.  He's still friends with his old gang, until one of them kidnaps the son of a blue-blooded woman whom the former jewel thief loved.  (While that seems "Ripped from today's headlines" the film was released two years before the Lindbergh baby was kidnapped; so life imitates art in this case.)  Hilarity and bloodshed ensues.

This has the usual problems of the early sound era films; constant and over-florid dialogue (especially weird to see in a war/gangster picture), hammy acting, and nearly static camera (the one tracking shot follows the backs of characters as they converse.)  The scenes of army life are okay; but John Ford seems to have run out of interest in the film after that point, and so did I.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Started watching Cuentame como paso to improve my Spanish. It's not great television but it is enjoyable in a sort of just relax and watch it way :)

In which year are they in? Over here there was the joke that if the show continued long enough it'd catch up with the present day and created a time travel paradox.

Only just started so still in 68.

I fully expect them to never change actors for the kids given how long the show's been running

Actually the character of the sister changed actresses a couple of times, IIRC.

Yeah, not a reason to pay for Crave.....but I'm sure there's another way.... :hmm:

the internet isn't only for porn. I mean it's mostly for porn, but you can watch tv shows too.
