I tried to watch the first eps of Rebels, but I found it too childish.

If nothing else, watch the last three episodes (they form an arc); the season finale is actually very good IMHO.

Maybe Ep. 9 (which is kind of an extended Empire Strikes Back cave scene) for some character building.

With the Disney takeover, most Expanded Universe is out the window. IIRC, the canon is now the movies, The Clone Wars movie/series (including some stories that were developed for it and later released as comics), and Rebels.

Which means that Lando laying the moves on Hera and Sabine and smuggling a truffle ore sniffing pig through the Imperial blockade actually happened in continuity (Ep. 10). :P

I'm in a Star Wars mood, so I think I'll bite and give it another go.

Darth Wagtaros

I'll try it.  At least until Gravity Falls returns.
PDH!

Most of it is your typical Saturday morning cartoon fare, so be warned.

Maybe I won't try it then.

Again, I find the last three episodes have quite a shift in tone with the introduction of Tarkin. The episodes until then felt like warm up.

I am glad that shortly after the KOTOR story was ruined Disney zapped it with their corporate magic.

If only they could do the same to the prequels :weep:

Well, the Expanded Universe has now been rebranded as "Legends."  :P

And it's not the first time stuff gets disregarded - happened to the old Marvel comics, too (though later comics occasionally paid homage to the old series), or Alan D. Foster's Splinter of the Mind's Eye.

Yes, I am into it.
Colonel Caliga is Awesome.

Surely, even if it's just half as good as the first one, it's going to be brilliant.

I'm looking forward to the next season of "True Detective".

But I do wonder what, exactly, ties it to the first season.

I believe nothing but it being about true detectives.

Yeah, the idea here is that each season is a separate story. There isn't a overall story arc or anything.
