I'm probably the only person on this forum who never watched X-Files.
The overarching plot was pretty lame IMO.  I found the standalone "creature of the week" episodes way more satisfying.

The overarching plot was pretty damn great until it dawned on me they had no idea where they were going with it; sort of Lost avant-la-lettre.

The episode about the Roswell autopsies was a favorite of mine.

Yeah, it was a lot like Lost.  The first part was very good, full of possibilities which never really panned out.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

I saw like part of one episode and maybe half an hour of one of the movies.

I saw a handful of episodes, never got into it. Back at the time, I mostly watched sitcoms.  :Embarrass:

Heh, I actually avoided Lost because someone told me it reminded them of The X-Files "without all of the standalone episodes".

I think I've seen maybe one whole episode and parts of half a dozen others.

Admiral Yi

I think I watched most of one episode, the one about the telemarketing monster.

Yeah, they never had any idea how they were going to pull all this together.  They were just going for "well this would look neat" or "this would be spooky".  Then it it became painfully obvious that they had not written an outline of what they wanted to depict.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
How where the turning against him?  They were just telling him to stop beating the shit out of the guy.

it wasn't a one sided fight and in his mind at the time, he was trying to protect the settlement, and his prior conversations with the mayor were more to the effect that he'd had to leave rather than enforce justice
I may revise my opinion...(warning, spoiler from comics ahead)
it seems that the end of the episode is one of those things just about straight from the comics...with Michonne slugging him more to stop him from digging himself in a deeper hole than anything.  Just part of the events leading to the Ricktatorship.
