about half the bedrooms are empty, and chunks of the house don't get much use.
Traditionally, you should call those bits the East Wing and keep insane relatives there.

Probably bit off more than they could chew.  That was the name of the game toward the end of the housing bubble.

When we were getting ready to move down here, we looked at a house in Prospect, KY that was IIRC 4800 sq. feet.  It had a very odd layout that I really liked--there were tons of rooms, many of them smallish (probably 25 rooms altogether) and in the basement, which was absolutely sprawling... some of them were in odd places, almost like they were designed to be secret rooms concealed with bookshelves or something.  I kind of wondered if Ed Gein had commissioned its construction.  :menace:

Anyway, we couldn't believe how cheap it was till we heard the owner was trying desperately to unload it before they got foreclosed on.  Ultimately we passed on it because because it had some sort of septic issue and the yard was, like, a swamp.  I guess we could have fixed it, but with so much excess housing inventory on the market, why bother with it?

I've got two excess bedrooms and they're full to the ceiling with junk.

One of the bedrooms has a full set of furniture and we actually cleaned it out so my parents could use it when they came to visit, but as soon as they left, the piles of laundry and other crap returned.  The bed is: no longer visible.

I'd give Brazen's flat about 600-700 sq. feet.

Actually, I'm even more insulted that you compared my wife to Kate the psychobitch. We didn't need no fertility drugs.

There's no shame in using fertility drugs.

This place is something like 1100 sq. feet.

Edit:  Er...maybe 1200?  This feels like something I should know.  Heh.

I am slightly surprised by the results so far.  I would have expected more people to vote the 2000+ options.

You seem to be forgetting that a significant percentage (perhaps a majority) of the board's population lives in Europe.
