You seem to be forgetting that a significant percentage (perhaps a majority) of the board's population lives in Europe.

I think my problem is that I thought the living conditions in Europe are similar to North America.

Living conditions are similar, but average sizes are definitely smaller.

And 2000+ sq ft is really really big.  My house is something like 1500 or so.

If you remember the first poll, it showed that a majority of ROTWers lived in appartments, while Americans lived in houses. It's definitely easier to get the sizes you look for in houses rather than in appartments.

Grey Fox

My 2 bedrooms appartment is 1019 feet.

Around here, that's pretty good for a 2 bedroom.

Yeah, it is very odd for a 1,000 sq. feet flat to be divided into 2 bedrooms. In HK, that's almost certainly a 3 or even a 4 bedroom room flat.  My in laws have a flat with 4 bedrooms, and all they have is 700 sq. feet.

sbr

My house is 1780 sq feet and I have three bedrooms.

Pedrito

270 square meters, around 2900 square feet.
Four bedrooms, dining room, living room, kitchen, three bathrooms.

My 120 sq m flat also has two very roomy bedrooms. The original floorplan had 3 bedrooms, but the previous owner liked big bedrooms so he axed one of them and increased the size of the other two at its expense. The kitchen is also huge, I think my previous appartment could fit fully in there.

 So is that a house then?  I seem to recall seeing American-style subdivisions in certain areas of Italy when I was there... I want to say this was outside of Milan, but can't remember for sure.

I believe Pete owns more actual real estate, so if you want to tackily worship someone, it ought to be him. -_-

I believe he does. Plus he makes more money. A good portion of my cash is from an injury settlement(the American way!).

And he's got a boat. Fucker has a navy.
