I'm on Silverlode.


I'm an elf from Lorien, a lvl 10 rune-caster.  Dirty blond hair, green-gold eyes, finely chiseled featured... just like an elf ought to be...

But what a strange world that is...   It's gorgeous in its details, from the fog coming out on your mouth in the mountains to the shadow you cast while walking.  The trees sigh and sway, the architecture is beautifully drawn...  And yet it feels so lifeless compared to WoW !  And it's not that there are far fewer players (a benediction !  Middle-Earth in those days should be sparesely populated...) - rather the feeling that everything is scripted.  Perhaps it's because I was, until lvl 10, still in the introduction phase.. ?!  Animals or ennemies didn't aggro; everything all seemed too conveniently staged.

And I'm sorry but the interface is counter-intuitive.  But then again I'm used to WoW where everything is made user-friendly by fiat (and in truth they had 5 years to polish their shit...)

Still, walking through the Ered Luin Mountains felt like stepping from the books directly into Eriador...

I don't know.  I bought the game and a 3 months membership so I'll have time to get used to things...

saw this weekend is like double xp as reward for folks coming back....and man the starting areas seem to have all changed..or it's just been a long time since i started up a guy.

@Grallon - levels 1-10 are introductory and 11-20 semi-introductory, so get your character at least into the mid-20s before you decide whether to stick with the game or not. The proportion of group quests and their difficulty also rises with level, so a lot of people will solo quickly into their mid-teens and then start socialising; IMO the other players are one of the strengths of this game, they are, in general, a pleasant and mature crowd.
