QuoteAs Dingell tried to begin the forum, Mike Sola, of Milan, interrupted the congressman repeatedly as he pushed his son, Scott, in a wheelchair, to the podium. He said proposed changes wouldn't help Scott and called Dingell a fraud

"You may be dead in five years," Val Butsicaris, 60, of Taylor, shouted. "They may euthanize you."

Wow...crazy ass shit.

Par for the course in community meetings.  There are people who get bad information off the internet, fear any change, or are just plain nuts and crave an audience to share their nuttiness with.  I get that trying to build cellular towers which will impact only a neighborhood.  A new health care bill will impact the entire district; that's going to bring a lot more uninformed, fearful, crazy people together.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Not overly so; all that's happening is the right is shrinking to angry white men.

Except that's been said many times before & then later proven untrue.

Or rather people underestimated the awesome power of angry white men.

This time though it seems more like crazy conspiracy men.

I'm curious if anyone else is getting creeped out by the happenings of late. Physical assaults on Congressmen, teabaggers storming town hall meetings to avoid letting Congressmen talk to constituents and starting fights, while a plurality of the GOP believe Obama wasn't born in America.

WTF is going on?

You do know that it was the Democrat that assaulted the protester?  So what's wrong with leftists?  nevermind, we all know that violence comes natural to the left.

It does say in the story that the guy who was assaulted was one of the protesters trying to get in, and he was hurt by the people "guarding the door". Doesn't mean he didn't swing first though. It just means his attempt was a fail.

I haven't heard of any members of Congress being assaulted though.

Not really. The left did this sort of stuff for 8 years.

See: Code Pink, WCW & others.

Are you old enough to remember the Clinton administration? I think this is par for the course.

Yep.  One of the main reasons people hate politics so much is most of the time we have to deal with people screaming about bullshit that only exists in their paranoid fantasies.

Are you saying there weren't oodles of conspiracy theorists in the 90s?  Google "Vince Foster" if you'd like to refresh your memory ;)

I remember that.  I guess they just seem more mainstream now.

Eh or not.  Perhaps it is not that people are getting stupider it is just that stupid people have alot more avenues to expose the world to their idiocy.

That's a state requirement for Kentucky grandfathers, I believe.
