Fuck land lines.

Fuck you. You should be beaten with a rotary phone.  Transient.

*BEEP*

Sorry, I'm not home right now. Please leave a message or, better yet, call my cell motherfucker because that sucker is always on me. Idiot.

You just don't understand the concept of "freedom", do you?  Transient.  Bill non-payer.

What are they charging for POTS landline these days?  I've been on VOIP for about 8 years, which I consider my landline.

I think my rate with Verizon is something like $29 a month.  Free long distance, like 5 free options (Caller ID, etc.)

QuoteAnyway, from what I understand, the proposed Ohio law doesn't necessarily kill landlines.  It just frees phone companies from having to maintain unprofitable lines.

Which, if you ask the phone companies, are all of them.

Now see, FunkMonk, this nigger understands freedom.

If you don't want to answer it, don't answer it. It's just like you're not home, with the added benefit that if you want it, you got it. That's freedom.

Syt

Freedom's just another word for noting left to lose.

As a cell-only man, I reserve the right to never answer a call if I didn't solicit it myself.

I am a free man.  :showoff:

I had a cell phone, but I realized since I had no friends it was kinda pointless.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

What thread was this?
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

This one's too good to let Ed get the jump on me on this one.

So much for that "meeting in a public place" strategy.

Quote3 dead after woman tells husband she's leaving him at Cracker Barrel in Ohio
By The Associated Press

BROOKLYN, Ohio -- Police shot and killed an armed man Thursday at a restaurant where two other people were killed and one was wounded, authorities said.

The shooting happened after a woman called 911 from a Cracker Barrel restaurant, saying her husband was upset because she told him she was leaving him, police said in a news release.

She said he was circling the parking lot in his car.

Officers arrived, heard gunshots and saw an armed man leaving the restaurant in Brooklyn, Ohio, near Cleveland. Police Chief Scott Mielke said officers shot him when he refused to surrender.

A woman and a girl also were killed. One person was taken to a hospital.

Police couldn't immediately say whether the other victims were shot or describe any relationship among the victims. The suspect and the victims were not identified.
