And people ask why I left...

They got wise to your communist plotting?

I was wondering why Sheilbh had stopped posting those ECDC maps, and I think I can see the reason  :(

Shops will re-open tomorrow. Originally, the target for reopening was daily new infections around 1000; we're still bouncing around the 3000 mark. Reproductive number has gone down to 0.83. 15% of tests is positive at the moment.

The chancellor calls on the responsibility of the people to ensure the numbers go further down.

 I'm so angry about it

That Ireland is colored orange?
 Mainly that they won't update their methodology to actually convey meaningful information :ultra:

Theirother map is more meaningful:

Ski season in Austria seems to be a poor idea.

WE'RE FUCKED is all the meaning needed.

I'll let Sheilbh analyse the disadvantageous angle of photographs on these Saturday London pictures. :P

Sheilbh

 So you can do a lot with lenses and angles and this is nice. It's like a covid tradition now.

Honestly I don't particularly worry about outdoor crowds we've had so many outdoor events that haven't been followed by increased infections: protests, beaches, crowded parks, marathons etc. I think at this point we can take it that they're fairly low risk.

I guess conclusions to be drawn also depend on what we can assume? That these people have rationally measured after researching evidence to your level that they are safe brushing up against each other in open air, but they refrain from mingling with their fellow men indoors, OR they just don't care?

Well, no. There are rules for indoors that are enforced (generally) there aren't that many rules for outdoors. That reflects the risk.

I'd add someone who was there today took this photo at street level and said it was basically like this throughout - busy, but do-able (but looked very crowded from a distance):

The Daily Mail etc's business model relies on outrage - photographers will know if they can get shots that look crowded, they'll be able to sell that to the papers.

I don't know how possibly one can make the crowd in the front of your pic, make look like on mine. :P
