I just got a text telling me I'm eligible for an NHS flu jab. Will that mean I'm a bit higher up on Covid vaccine waiting list?

No - I get them but getting a flu jab is very broad eligibility not super high risk. We might be above other under 50s (Tamas? :P) but not by much.

Probably eligibility for it to be free.

I should get the Flu vaccine but I usually have an allergic reaction to it. Don't really feel like going thru that this year.

So interesting in the vaccine news - there have been issues with people a history of severe allergic reactions having allergic reactions so it's being restricted for those people. I imagine it's quite a small group of people but, inevitable is "BREAKING NEWS" which is probably not helpful.

Yeah there's also probably going to be an alarm raised when you're vaccinating millions of elderly people, some of whom will get the jab and then die of old age very shortly thereafter.  :hmm:

I was just thinking with this 90 years old lady, I hope she lives another 20 years but it's not like it's impossible something will happen to the poor thing in the coming months and from the face of the vaccination drive she'll be made the face of the anti-vaccination crowd.

Many people who are wary of the vaccines will take the plunge once airlines and various other companies start mandating a vaccine certificate in order to use their services. :hmm:

My company is trying to figure out a way to get us early vaccines.  I work for a real estate company, but we own healthcare properties (including senior living communities).

BTW is it normal in the West the way UK nurses administer injections, and by that I mean not doing a quick disinfectant wipe of the immediate skin area before stabbing?

I reviewed the video of the jab into the Xmas jumper wearing lady, the nurse has the jab and a swab in here right hand, she uses her left hand to roll up the t-shirt and find the spot for the jab, then as she moves the syringe toward that spot, she transfers the swab to her left hand, that hand then holds the arm spot again and you can see some additional movements from the nurse's left hand, I bet this was her applying the swab, just before the needle went in.

I mean lots more people died on those days from other things, I guess they just mean complications related to be involved with those things. Like sure maybe Antietam did not kill Sgt Jones but the gangrene did.

But color me suspicious there are not more disease days. I know the population is much bigger now and all but we did have the influenza thing.
