Some changed their name, and IIRC, most, if not all, his surviving relatives made a pact to let the bloodline die.

One of my teachers was called Göbbels. He was not amused when people used the 'oe' version or pronounced it in a German way.

According to Hitler he was the only useful Belgian so yeah.

I found the numbers for the Belgians
Degrelle 98 in 2008
De clercq 1 in 2008 (this variant is almost dead, surpinsingly  since de Clerk, Clerck and such are very common)
Van De Wielle 369 in 2008 (to be honest never heard of him)
