What does a TRUMP presidency look like?

I see the Senate has just approved the appointment of a 35 year old Federal judge. Plausibly on the bench into the 2070s and very much doubt he'll be the last.

I'm looking forward to reading all the Democratic think pieces discussing plans for reforming the judiciary to get us out of this mess. Plans that will never come close to seeing the light of day.

Quote from: viper37 on July 23, 2025, 05:39:24 PMHow reliable could this theory be?  Also, that American lawyers hating Trump now see a glimmer of hope because of this?

So that is saying that if Trump brought a civil lawsuit, third parties could be subpoenaed and have to turn over documents and testify.  That's true. And while Trump may have no worries about lying his ass off in a deposition, the same will not be true for others.

But as your source says, Trump doesn't give a crap about anyone else. If he does get worried that one of them may say something damaging, he can just pardon them for criminal contempt and pay any civil contempt fine.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

Well, I believe there are powerful financial forces in the US who are tired of Don of the Con, and now Murdoch is their voice.

He will be declared inept to govern within a year and JD Vance will replace him, explaining his silence right now.  He will be the right's new champion, fighting the Swamp from the inside.

By then, everything will be locked tight around the President's office, so it won't matter much if there are any opposition.

Probably not applying to a civil lawsuit, but who knows these days?

It is time to go beyond words to show your patriotism.

Your leader needs you.

Hmm, it says Trump is really asking but then the article says nothing about Trump. I guess he really wasn't. :D

Anyway, they don't need help according to Trump as he already said we likely have less debt and current figures are fraudulent.

FCC to Appoint a Babysitter to Make Sure CBS Isn't Anti-Trump

QuoteThe Federal Communications Commission finally approved an $8 billion merger between Paramount and Skydance on Thursday after several changes at CBS that were widely seen as efforts to placate President Donald Trump. Part of the deal will apparently require an ombudsman to check the media company's supposed political biases. And FCC commissioner Brendan Carr has been doing the rounds to brag about how he's getting people on TV to be nicer to the MAGA movement.

"They made commitments to address bias and restore fact-based reporting. I think that's so important," Carr told Newsmax's Greg Kelly on his show Thursday night. "I mean, look, the American public simply do not trust these legacy media broadcasters. And so, if they stick with that commitment, you know, we're sort of trust-but-verify mode, that'll be a big win."
Carr went on to explain that CBS had committed to "ending invidious forms of DEI," a pretext Trump has used to purge the federal government of anyone who isn't white and male in leadership positions. Kelly said that he had heard the media company was going to do something "different" with 60 Minutes, claiming that a shift to "fact-based" reporting would be a "cultural shock" to CBS.
"One of the things they're going to have to do is put in an ombudsman in place for two years," Carr said. "So basically a bias monitor that will report directly to the president. So that's something that's significant that we're going to see happening as well."
While Carr said "the president" rather than "the president of Paramount," it's not clear what he meant. Skydance wrote a letter to the FCC saying the ombudsman would answer to the president of Paramount, but it's entirely possible that Carr understands their agreement differently. Gizmodo reached out to CBS and the FCC for comment but haven't hear back.

I have seen multiple videos like this, what is stopping a bunch of civilians to get some "police" camouflage vests from ebay, and kidnap people? There are no ids I can see, they are masked and they get into unmarked beat-up civilian cars.

Really surprised some of these kidnappers haven't been shot.

And to the surprise of absolutely no one, note the conspicuous absence of all the gun nuts who for years bleat about protecting themselves from the tyranny of the government, at the moment when you have masked thugs operating without mandates in the name of an autocrat.
