But no, my mailman visits my house directly.  I call him Kenny because he looks like Kenny Rogers. :)
Does he know that's why you call him Kenny? As you approach him with a gun....

We used to know our postie when we lived in rural Scotland. I don't know if it's still a thing but we also used to tip the postie at Christmas - normally with a bottle of scotch. I feel that's an older people/rural community thing though.

No, I've never called him that to his face, and no I don't really carry a gun to my mailbox.

Damn I am jealous. My neighborhoods have always had those postbox things.
 Do you live in an apartment?  I thought you just built a house. :hmm:

I have lived in a house since 2009 but the USPS delivers my mail to a postbox a block or so away. It has been this way for all three houses I have lived in, all in three different neighborhoods. I like to think it is a scheme to help Americans lose weight.

Edit: They look like this:

we used to have a regular mailbox, but I got tired or repairing it everytime the snowplower drove by.

Now there's a communal mailbox.  On my lawn  In summer, it's not much further than where the old mailbox was.  Winter is a bitch though :(
I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

Over here when I was a kid it was a tradition to tip the postman at Christmas too, dunno if still holds in some areas.

Honestly this is the weirdest thing of his entire time in office:

In a sense Covid has really help Trump do what he really wanted to do: Keep people from coming into the US and stifle international trade.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Maybe it will kill enough of his base to matter.

It's weird, but utterly typical.  Weird was when he talked about shining ultraviolet light into people's bodies, or when he claimed that George Washington missed his chance to have things named after him, because he didn't rename Mount Vernon after himself.
