350 per week, let's call it 1400 per month, round it to 1500. Plus 50% (1.5x mentioned) is 2250. Is that a high net income in the US if you have mortgage/rent to pay? Does it include health insurance?

Not really, no. The median for a household in the USA is somewhere ~$60k/year, or $5000/month. If we assume the above figure is for a 2-earner household, then it's enough to make up the majority of the median, at least. Not exactly high-society living, but they shouldn't starve or be booted from their home. Health insurance is most definitely not covered, though...

As Sheilbh mentioned, there are other considerations as well, none of which have been taken into account.

Yeah, and this is why the $1200 figure is really just...weird in many places. UI in Washington is more than double Georgia's cap!
