What does a TRUMP presidency look like?

I think Berkut is right. He'll be like Johnson on this side of Oceania - he has far, far more to lose than gain with a debate so why go?

DGuller

I don't think Trump is going to go to debates either.  If he can choose to not take part in impeachment, he can definitely choose not to debate.  Even if he does choose to debate, there is really nothing that can happen there that would affect his chances, short of him dropping dead.

Lets not lose perspective--a fox news poll has trump losing to all the democratic candidates (mysteriously buried at the bottom of the article).

Biden 50 Trump 41
Bloomberg 49 trump 41
Sanders 48 Trump 42
Warren 47 Trump 42
Buttigieg 45 Trump 41
Klobuchar 43 Trump 42

This is with the economy at basically maximum strength--seems like downside risk to Trump at this point.

Also, our resident science and epidemiology expert (Tim) predicts a serious coronavirus catastrophe, which will inevitably disproportionally kill the old and feeble. That will decimate Trump's voter base.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

him dropping dead.

If they left his name on the ballot he'd still win.
It has happened with more than one Congressional election in the last two decades.  Election laws are often magical as are the people who vote in said elections.

Looks like almost exactly rank order in terms of name recognition.

Bloomberg!  :w00t:

Does he have any kind of shot at this?

It's really hard to judge from up here because I don't see a penny of his quarter billion dollar ad buy, but it has had him moving up in the polls.  And it seems like the "ignore the early states, focus on Super Tuesday" could at least theoretically work.

But it seems ludicrous that what Democrats think they need for a candidate is another NYC white billionaire...

Bloomberg would be the first.  Trump is no billionaire, which is why he is scared shitless someone might see his tax returns, which would confirm that.

I'll be very surprised if he wins the nomination.

On the other hand, the media and twitterati do seem to have ignored his apology for stop and frisk as well as his hiring of chain gangs to make calls (I was dead wrong on that).  And maybe he came up with some super Jew smart boy strategy to avoid the early debates and the attendant back stabbing from other candidates.

Your last point makes no sense to me, unless you think all white NYC billionaires are some variation of Trump.

I haven't seen any of his ads either, BTW.  Smart Jews know not to spend money on states they're not running in.

I don't see the ads either (we cut the cord), but the "ignore the early states, focus on Super Tuesday" strategy has been tried a few times before and it always spectacularly fails. The top few finishers in the early states just suck all the oxygen out of the room. It isn't just that they get all the press attention; voters also want to support a contender and an also ran in the early states doesn't look like one.

Why the drumbeat about his Jewishness?  Is that somehow relevant to his campaign, or is it just some twitch you have about Jews?
