I have been following the 116th Congress with some interest and was pleased to see not a single Democrat vote with Trump so far. I mean not a huge surprise but still...



But I noticed Trump won the last vote: https://projects.propublica.org/represent/votes/116/house/1/31

because the House needs a 2/3rds majority to "suspend the rules" :hmm:

So basically all the Democrats lost there was a chance to stop talking about something? Is that right?

51% of the country opposes the wall and opposes compromising on that with Trump to open the government.  The House isn't going to crack on this.

Hmm...I think Pelosi's State of the Union gambit could work.

After all, there is nothing Trump wants more than attention, and denying it to him is going to really upset him.

Now is a fine time to return to making the State of the Union as boring as possible.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop.
