What is it with the GOP and sexual molestation??

When did Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, and Louis CK join the GOP?

This is not an issue that breaks down by party line.

A pedophile will be the Republican Senator of the great State of Alabama

It'll be interesting to see to what degree the consequences are equivalent across political alignment lines in the US. That Trump's pussy grabbing had no impact seems to suggest that GOP aligned assaulters will suffer fewer consequences than the Weinsteins of the world, but perhaps the context has changed. Seems like in the UK, at least, consequences are accruing to Conservatives as well.

Is the distinction between left and right, or entertainment and politics?

QuoteTrump Tried to Suppress Obamacare. But 600,000 Just Enrolled.
by BENJY SARLIN

WASHINGTON — Over 600,000 people signed up for a plan through Obamacare's federal exchange in its first four days of open enrollment, significantly outpacing last year's sign-ups, according to official figures released Thursday.

The Centers on Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) said that 464,140 customers renewed their coverage while another 137,322 customers were new enrollees, for a total of 601,462. The number only includes people who signed up through the HealthCare.gov portal, which services 39 states.

By comparison, some 1,008,281 customers signed up through Healthcare.gov in the first 12 days of enrollment in 2016, the first period for which data is available. While not a perfect comparison, the daily rate of sign-ups is significantly faster this year: 150,366 per day in 2017, compared with 84,018 in 2016.

But experts cautioned against assigning too much meaning to the early numbers.

The enrollment period, which ends Dec. 15, is significantly shorter this year, down to 45 days from three months in 2016 and the total number of sign-ups will depend a lot on how many marginal customers take part in the final days. The surge could reflect sicker patients with pent-up demand, rather than healthier patients who may be more reluctant to buy a plan but are crucial to keeping premiums down.

"We shouldn't read too much into this since there's five weeks to go and we need to get a lot of people signed up quickly," Lori Lodes, co-founder of Get America Covered, an outside campaign to enroll customers, told NBC News. "But it's a great start."

At the very least, the 600,000 sign-ups strongly clashed with President Donald Trump's repeated insistence that Obamacare was "dead" and "finished" and would soon collapse.

Supporters of the law were afraid Trump's White House might make his claims a self-fulfilling prophecy: The administration slashed the advertising budget for enrollment by 90 percent, made deep cuts to customer service, and threw a wrench in the insurance market by cutting off cost-sharing payments owed to insurers just after they finalized their 2018 premiums.

"Bottom line, there are a lot of people out there who want and need good quality, affordable coverage, and no amount of political grandstanding changes that," said Sabrina Corlette, a research professor at Georgetown's Center on Health Insurance Reforms.

Experts offered some possible explanations for better-than-expected enrollment. Trump's decision to cut off CSR payments raised overall premiums on paper, but actually lowered the cost of plans for many customers whose income qualifies them for federal help thanks to a quirk in the way the law calculates subsidies. The Kaiser Family Foundation estimates 54 percent of customers eligible for subsidies are able to purchase a bronze plan for zero dollars a month.

It's also possible coverage of repeal efforts has generated more awareness of the law's benefits, filling in some of the gap created by advertising cuts.

"The administration has caused a lot of anxiety for people over the last year when it comes to health care, but there's also been a more in depth conversation about what Obamacare really is about," Lodes said.

Multiple intel agencies claim to have Trump sex videos — but some fakes are floating around: Ex-NSA analyst

John Schindler, a former National Security Agency analyst who now regularly writes about alleged ties between President Donald Trump and the Russian government, has written an explosive column this week alleging that multiple intelligence agencies around the world claim to have copies of Trump sex tapes.

In his latest column at the Observer, Schindler writes that Trump's notorious sexual habits over the years have left him wide open to potential blackmail, and that intelligence agencies around the world possess what they believe to be compromising material on him.

"As many as a dozen intelligence services worldwide, on four continents, are in possession of some sort of 'Trump tape' featuring sexual escapades of a controversial nature," he writes. "Some of these tapes have been shared with the Mueller investigation."

However, Schindler also warns that many of these tapes are either crude or sophisticated forgeries seemingly designed to discredit any news organization or politician who brings them to light. Schindler suspects that these fraudulent tapes are the work of Russian counterintelligence operatives and were created to protect Trump in case real sex videos of the president were to leak.

That said, Schindler is confident that at least one genuine Trump sex tape exists.

"One Western intelligence agency with a solid professional reputation is in possession of an unpleasant Trump tape that they assess 'with high confidence' is bona fide, i.e. exactly what it appears to be," he writes. "They obtained the tape from a trusted source who plausibly had access to it. Over the decades, Trump has traveled widely—including to Russia more than once—and thereby exposed himself to surreptitious filming in numerous countries."

Schindler was highly skeptical of the Steele dossier's claim that Russia had genuine video footage of Trump watching a prostitutes performing a "golden shower" when the contents of the dossier were first made public.

"The dossier's "pee-pee tape" claim is viewed with derision by most Western spies who know the Russians," he wrote earlier this year.

By far the worst thing about the possibility of those tapes existing is the non-zero chance that I might see it.

Trump probably isn't the best actor out there, but I imagine that his partners must be good looking?

I'd be curious to see if he's overcompensating for something.

It could be even worse than that--you could see it and find out your mom is in it.

So apparently Roy Moore is denying providing alcohol to minors, and is denying "sexual misconduct", but has confirmed he pursued relationships with teenagers whilehe was in his 30s.

Hortlund has a chance in politics if only he moves to Alabama.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.
