Do you guys figure this whole thing about Trump telling his generals that this is "the calm before the storm" is indicative if anything other than empty posturing?

He wasn't telling the generals that, he was telling the press when asked why all the brass on a Thursday night.

Doesn't matter anyway. He wants his wars with North Korea and Iran.

Might shore up the midterms and help him deal with the results of the Mueller investigation.

 Midterms?  Where we're going, we're not going to need midterms.

Maybe you should change the channel.

Well Trump is doing his best to kill Obamacare via executive order.

Good boy.

QuoteThe plan had been for Vice President Mike Pence to attend the Indianapolis Colts game at which Peyton Manning's number was to be retired, a gala celebration of the former Colts quarterback's contributions to Pence's home state.

The former governor of Indiana and his wife, wearing a Manning No. 18 jersey, left Lucas Oil Stadium after the national anthem, following instructions from President Trump after a number of San Francisco 49ers players, as they usually do, took a knee during the anthem.

"I asked @VP Pence to leave stadium if any players kneeled," Trump posted on Twitter. "I am proud of him and @SecondLady Karen."

Why would he walk out of a Colts game because of something the visiting team does?

Pain avoidance.

I think we can only assume at this point from the leaks and the rumors, but until it's all over and it all comes out, I don't think anybody truly knows exactly how much of an insane asylum the White House must be when he's got his rage on.

sbr

It was tax payer funded political theater from the start, just to give a hard on to Trump's mouth breathing base.

With all the pressing and huge problems facing the US, the president chooses to focus on fixing the urgent problem of people kneeling during the national anthem?  Aren't there issues of slightly bigger concern, like mass murderers shooting random concert goers?

Eddie Teach

How is he going to fix that problem, Mono?

Declare it fixed? Throw some paper towel rolls?

QuoteChris Murphy: Pence walkout 'a multi million dollar political stunt paid for by taxpayers'

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Sunday slammed Vice President Mike Pence for walking out of an Indianapolis Colts football game, calling it "a multi million dollar political stunt paid for by taxpayers."

"Don't let these guys tell you they are fiscal conservatives. This was a multi million dollar political stunt paid for by taxpayers," Murphy tweeted.

His comment came in response to Pence's announcement that the vice president had left the Colts game early in protest against football players who were kneeling during the national anthem.

Murphy's comment on Twitter was posted along with a retweet of a post by journalist Sung Min Kim, which showed a side-by-side comparison of two seemingly identical photos of Pence and his wife at a Colts game.

Pence had posted one of the photos to his Twitter account earlier on Sunday before walking out of the game. But people online quickly pointed out that he had posted what appeared to be virtually the exact same photo years earlier.

The observation further fueled speculation that Pence's decision to leave the game on Sunday was an elaborately staged political stunt.

Government watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) took to Twitter on Sunday to blast Pence's walkout.

"CAN WE JUST MAKE IT THROUGH A WEEKEND WITHOUT THIS ADMINISTRATION ABUSING TAXPAYER DOLLARS WITH JET TRAVEL!?" the organization tweeted.

CREW's tweet comes as several Trump administration officials find themselves facing scrutiny over their government travel.

Murphy has become one of the most vocal critics of the GOP on Capitol Hill. Following the massacre at an outdoor concert in Las Vegas last week, he called on Congress to "get off its ass and do something" on gun control.
