What does a TRUMP presidency look like?

Apparently Flynn has kept himself busy:

QuoteDisgraced Trump adviser Mike Flynn admits he worked as a "foreign agent" for the Turkish government
It turns out Flynn's ties to foreign governments don't stop at Russia.

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who was fired in February after lying about his contacts with the Russian government, has formally registered with the Justice Department as a "foreign agent" and admitted that he had lobbied on behalf of the Turkish government as recently as November 2016.

As the Associated Press reports, Flynn's lawyer filed paperwork with the Justice Department Tuesday disclosing that the retired Army general had done lobbying work between August and November 2016 that "could be construed to have principally benefited the Republic of Turkey." According to the filing, Flynn's company, Flynn Intel Group Inc., was paid at least $530,000 for the work.

Flynn's contract ended on November 15, just three days before Trump appointed him national security adviser.

Still, the disclosure that Trump's top campaign adviser on all issues of national security and foreign policy was receiving money to lobby on behalf of a foreign power all the way through Election Day is another black eye for Flynn, who has the rare distinction of having been fired by two US presidents (Barack Obama ousted him because of his mismanagement of the Defense Intelligence Agency). The FBI is also continuing to probe Flynn's communications with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in the aftermath of the election.

Oh yeah, now that he's just one of the great unwashed he's covering all his legal bases retroactively.

It was gentle compared to what Germany got after WW2.

You mean those billions of dollars of Marshall Plan aid?

After WWII the Allies specifically took a different path from Versailles.  There were no reparations (although Germany eventually volunteered to give Israel a bunch of money), and instead the US gave a lot of aid to rebuild the country.

There were reparations.

*quickly googles*

To Israel, as mentioned.  To Greece.  Some really minor amounts to Yugoslavia.  And nothing at all to the victorious allies.

Yeah, I stand by my statements.

Not exactly true since France managed to get some money back by forcing Germany to pay for some destroyed infra-structure plus the Sarre region till 1957 and the coal till 1981.
To be precise, one of the new bridges for the new TGV line to Germany was actually built in 2010 under the provisions of a 1953 treating forcing Germany to pay for a new bridge over the Rhine.
Can't find English links but there are plenty of French ones.

I don't think that is accurate. The Morgenthau Plan predated the Marshall Plan and was at least partially put in place. For the first year after the war, western policy was to keep the standard of living in Germany low and industrialization minimized. The privations that resulted and the fear that would push Germans to communism is what resulted in the Marshall Plan being extended to Germany--but I still think that western restrictions on German industry were not removed for several years after that.

Of course if we look to the east there was the massive use of forced labor and relocation of German industry to other countries. Germany also lost large amounts of territory and ethnic Germans were expelled from sections of it.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

It's decidedly lefty, but I find it's reporting to be solid.
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

I don't want to think about that.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. Well that's how good character-murder looks like.

I heard she goes both ways.  Getting it both ways would be a new one.

All Federal prosecutors fired

Including one Trump had asked to stay, who was working on corruption cases.

Also, I like this part here:
Quote
A person familiar with the calls that have been made said there was no advance warning of the move. It came less than 24 hours after Sean Hannity, the Fox News commentator who often speaks with Mr. Trump, called for a "purge" of Obama appointees at the Justice Department on his show.

McCain says put up or shut up on the wire tapping allegations.

Quote"The president has one of two choices, either retract or provide the information that the American people deserve," McCain said in an interview on CNN's "State of the Union." "I have no reason to believe that the charge is true, but I also believe that the president of the United States could clear this up in a minute."

Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
