Rasmussen polls now have Trump under 50% (46-53).    That's significant because Rasmussen has the most Trump-friendly cooking of the big polls.  Also only 30% strongly approve, whereas 43% strongly disapprove.  The hardcore antiTrump is stronger than hardcore proTrump.

I imagine we will soon see a shift of arguments to "He's busy leading, not worrying about popularity".
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Rachel Maddow claims she has obtained Trump's tax returns and will be releasing them on air at 9pm eastern.

OttoVonBismarck

Apparently returns from 2005.

Any chance she risk running afoul of this law?

26 USC 7213

While much of the law deals with Federal employees and other authorized persons, this section almost sounds like it would apply to her:

QuoteIt shall be unlawful for any person to whom any return or return information (as defined in section 6103(b)) is disclosed in a manner unauthorized by this title thereafter willfully to print or publish in any manner not provided by law any such return or return information. Any violation of this paragraph shall be a felony punishable by a fine in any amount not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution.

They were sent to wikileaks but the response was it was not in line with their low term strategy.  It was also written in Russian.

White House says Trump paid $38 million on $150 million in income.

Romney managed to only pay 14%. Trump had to pay 25.33%. Sad

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.

He had low energy at that point in his life  :(

That was a whole lot of nothing. Thanks MSNBC.

And I still do.  A photocopy of a 1040 is a whole lot of nothing, though.  $150M, yahoo.
Like Johnson said: for all he knows, Trump could've sent it to him himself.   It wouldn't be the first time he leaked his own story. #MelaniaHub

That 1040 was a whole lot of nothing. If anything it helps Trump, because it showed he was a high earner that year and paid a comfortable amount of tax. That, along with the fact it's stamped "Client Copy" almost makes wonder if Trump leaked it intentionally.

That's also, as far as we know, the last year Trump was involved in major real estate transactions deals--most of his income on that return are from major sales of real estate assets. Tax returns from 2006 for example would show a better idea how much in come Trump actually makes off of the Trump Organization's "ordinary" operations, namely managing hotels, collecting rents on some Manhattan real estate, branding fees, and operating Golf Courses. If Trump's income was quite low in 2006-2015 from those things, then it'd suggest his vaunted real estate firm barely turns a profit at all--albeit it's not inconceivable he just keeps all his profits in the business, given Trump's tastes and behaviors I find it unlikely he'd do that.

Agree with Ed, not much there.  25% tax rate is about average for fortunate Americans?

What is most shocking: 150 million$ in revenue.  Only that? For a supposed billionaire?

He'd never leak a return that showed him only making $150 million. He'd leak his best year and then say it was one of his worst.

Eh, only takes 7 years to make a billion at that rate, and he's had 70.
