I agree.  It was probably something more like "the midpoint of the distribution our expectations of the probability of a recession is 60% by end of year."

The hell that it must be for lawyers trying to defend Trump's actions.  U.S. District Judge James Boasberg stepped the US attorney representing the administration in the case through each of Trump's lies about the ruling, forcing the attorney, under oath, to concede that they were lies. He then gave the government seven days to present the name of the administration official who refused to turn the planes around.

Another judge ordered the return of those who had not received due process, and specifically the Maryland man who had been given an express waiver from rendition to El Salvador.

I'm still not hearing the Democratic leadership trumpeting the injustice involved here.  Schiff, yes.  Schumer and Hawkins, no.

Any Americans here wishing you had a parliamentary system, rather than a presidential one?

Would having a parliamentary system make a difference if a major party was corrupt and hell bent on stupidity?

She lost popular and party support. Not something you can claim about Trump.

Which is why I find the Republican Party sycophants to be more way more bothersome than Trump himself.  I will never be able to comprehend people like Lindsey Graham.

I think there's a disconnect between what we voters expect of elected representatives character vs the truth.

Yeah, Lindsey Graham going from lauding Zelensky as being the "ideal American ally" to "he should resign" based on the flavor of Trump's farts is ludicrous. Anyone creating Graham as a fictional character, barring only Terry Pratchett, would be told that "that's not believable."

Fucker has been doing that shit his whole career. Totally gutless politician, made even more ludicrous by always talking like he has deep convictions.

He always had Jesus on his side.  It's just a different Jesus every week.

You could say he has his own personal Jesus. Someone to hear his prayers. Someone who cares.

Indeed.  A Jesus created in Graham's own image. Who agrees with him no matter how absurd the contention. Like Santa Claus, but for adults.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.
