You can of course get American steaks here. But only those made following our regulations.

Norgy

If the Americans stopped chucking antibiotics and growth hormones into every type of livestock, it might be less of a hard sell for our delicate European palates.

Not that Italy or Greece are much better.

At this point, I'd rather have RFK junior's dead Central Park bear than American beef.

There's a whole complicated debate about 'non-tariff trade barriers', and that EU regulations often come up in those.  Those around Trump even cited them as something to be considered in the "reciprocal tariffs".

"chlorine washed chicken" is often mentioned as a trade irritant between US and EU.

Not that in the end Trump cares one bit about this, and the Trump admin made not even the slightest attempt to account for non-tariff trade barriers in coming to its tariff numbers.

I'm agreeing that JPMorgan has damn fine forecasting ability.  So I interpreted the statement metaphorically.

Were you agreeing sarcastically or non-sarcastically?

Yes.  I inferred monger's was being sarcastic so I employed my monkey kung fu of ingenuous sincerity to defeat his dragon kung fu.

Could be 58%, could be 65%.  Economics is an imprecise science.

Anyway.  I doubt the official report was "I predict with 60% certainty we will enter a recession within 3 months".

And JPMorgan scumbag CEO well full trumpist by saying Americans should suck it up, tariffs were good for US national security.
