Josquius

Earth Abides. One of the best books ever and sadly forgotten despite its importance to the genre.

Next up for tonight's viewing, 'Seven Days In May'

Great movie.  But read the book anyway.

Tonitrus

The Postman.

Stop laughing.  :P

It wasn't so bad.  Oh, Kevin.

Surprised it's not more popular;  after all, in the back story the wingnuts get their whacking material: "I was at the Battle of Georgetown; I watched the White House burn to the ground!"

Thanks, I've been trying to find the book, but it's very rare over here.  :hmm:

I don't like buying off amazon marketplace anymore, as for old paperbacks like these, most of the ones on sale turn out to be damaged, horribly aged/yellows books.

For a potentially cherished book I'd prefer to buy an nice condition one.

There's a Kindle version for 0.99. You could read it on your smart phone.

That's a completely different book though.

Oops, you're right - my bad.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the obvious: 1984 and the 1984 movie version of 1984.  Both brilliant but utterly depressing.

Damn, that would have been so convenient.

Indeed, besides currently I'm going for the light-hearted stuff, next up 'Damnation Alley' on youtube.  :)

You know, I've never seen that.

edit
I should add, surely a Trump Presidency will give a much needed boost to the post-apocalypse film genre?
